I reckon the interior will be worth most while it stays where it was installed over 30 years ago.

The Capri Club do a range of exhausts that are fair value for the money. I had a club exhaust for a while and it was OK. Had a Janspeed (mild steel) on for the last 10 years and cannot fault it. If the bolts hold the motor on OK when you tighten them back up, then try a bit of thread locker on them first. Should do the trick.
