Just regular cheapo grease to be honest. Although this method may work purely due to the fact I’ve removed it so often! I think long term wise, gluing the gasket into the rocker cover with some silicone (oil resistant), and then using the above method, would be your best bet.

But, you didnt mention if you need to replace the rocker cover gasket, do i need to? I wont bother with the valve clearances as i have no clue what they are supposed to be, and i dont own a manual and cant afford one right now, but i will get a friend who is a mechanic to have a look for me instead...

There's 2 male spade connections sticking out the top of the fuse box (end nearest the windscreen). One is switched live one is permanent live. I took mine from there. Can't remember which is which though, but easy to figure out with a multimeter.
