Re: 280 for very reluctant sale
Such a shame to see you sell up! Understand your reasons and I think I'm more disappointed that I don't have the space to relieve you of the car! Whoever does buy it will be very happy I'm sure, having seen it in the flesh it looks fantastic. If I manage to discover there is an empty garage I can st...

Re: £15000 laser on eBay
 Considering that there is a lovely "one owner" 2.8I for £18k and also a nice black 3.0S (imported from Ireland) for £14k, I think I'd have to seriously question why someone would pay £15k for what I think we all have to admit will be less desirable, mainly because of the engine siz...

Solved it! Turns out in my own ineptitude I labelled up the wires wrong so once I found the right ones and wired them in it all worked as it should

Yep!! I thought the exact same thing, checked the fuse and it's fine, and still powers the original one!Peter-S wrote:Has it powered the old radio since it failed to power the new one or before. Perhaps the in line fuse has gone in changing wires around. Doesn't make sense otherwise!

Re: Laser + GL
So it's back! New cam and carbs make a massive difference (when they work as they should!) Was running a bit lumpy after I got the car back so before I got it rolling-roaded I have fitted an Aldon ignition kit after a few of you guys on here mentioned how good it was. Massive shout out to Paul G who...

Re: Aftermarket stereo/standard wires
Cheers Andrew, No I haven't tested with a multimeter, but it still powers the original radio which I was using as my measure to see if it still worked or not. When I wired that one up it came on, held stations if programmed and did what it was meant to do My plan was to use a piggyback clip to conne...

Aftermarket stereo/standard wires
Hey all, So I have an after market radio hidden in my glove box to keep the original radio in place and looking the part, but for the last period of time it has had a direct wire straight to the battery with no fuse in line. So today I thought I would be slightly more sensible and do the job properl...

Unless your expansion tank is also full to the brim, I can't think of any reason why its coming out of the top of the rad, apart from the suggestions Nick has already made... Sounds like a loose rad cap to me as well, if not then check the rest of Nick's suggestions and if it still happens let us kn...

I think I put £7000 or 7500 on my 1.6 as well just after I had new front wing/valence/bonnet/bumpers etc. just to cover myself in case of the worst!

Re: flasher relay
Did you check the earth itself? If you wiggled the earth wire and it worked I would've thought that the earth connection was crap and to fix that rather than replacing the whole relay?

Rev Counter not Working
Hi guys, mentioned last week about the rev counter not working since I changed the carb over fro a 34 IHC to a 32/36 and everyone said that there was a spare wire somewhere that goes straight to the coil, but as per my pictures below I can't find any spare/loose wires at all? Help please! Thanks htt...

Re: Weber 34 ICH to 32/36 Carb
If anyone is interested by the way, Novatech in Slough want £70+VAT and hour (£82 an hour) and a pinto apparently takes around 2hours so would be about £160 to set up, once I've actually got the thing working within reason!

That means something else must be wrong as to why my rev counter isn't going! Hi Danny, The rev counter is fed from the coil. Andrew. Re: Weber 34 ICH to 32/36 Carb
That is correct - the wire was for the fuel cut off valve on the original VV carb and the 34ich. Just curl it up and tie it up somewhere out of the way. How's the car going with all the new bits? Oh I seeeee.... That means something else must be wrong as to why my rev counter isn't going! And so fa...
