Re: mk3 fuel tank colour

Hi,
I believe it's silver. Not sure of the exact shade or paintcode.

Re: Proposed 2.8i purchase

I personally don't hate other flavours of Capri - I'd have one of each if I could. Hi, :agree: I don't hate other models of Capri either, but as I could only have one toy, I chose to buy the model that I believe fulfils my needs the best. If money and space were no object, I could draw up a very lo...

Re: Who thinks eBay charges are a rip off?

Hi,
Yes, the fees are expensive, however, Ebay gives you potential access to million of buyers. Putting a card in the village shop window has lower fees than Ebay, but the chances are you won't sell your niche items that way.
You pays your money and takes your choice........

Re: New shirt to match my car (when its wrapped)

What's happening with the wrap? Considering doing mine (DIY maybe) and wanna see some more examples! Seen a couple if really nicely done ones. Hi, I wouldn't have thought that doing it yourself is a good idea, especially on the larger panels. If you manage to get just one wrinkle in the vinyl sheet...

Re: Potential Buyer

Hi,
Here is that thread I mentioned in the previous post.
viewtopic.php?f=15&t=45480
Interesting reading!
Be aware that a thirty year old car covering only 5000 miles a year would have clocked up 150,000 miles in it's lifetime.

Re: Potential Buyer

Hi, There is some excellent advice being offered by the other posters above. I would just say that you should get out and about viewing as many capris as possible. After a while you will get more of a feeling of what is and isn't right about various cars. As previously stated, there is no need to ru...

Re: Proposed 2.8i purchase

Hi, I agree with you that the car is going to be yours, so you should get the model you want. I was in the same situation as you. The 2.8 was the Capri that I always wanted in my youth, so when I was in a position to finally buy one, only the 2.8 would do. If I would have bought any other model, I w...

Re: Proposed 2.8i purchase

Hi, if the car you are intending to purchase is on the internet, you could provide a link. It's amazing what the experienced Capri gurus can tell from the photos.

Re: NEW PERFORMANCE EXHAUST KNOCKING

Mine took some dicking around to get it right too. So did the Sportex on my 2.8. Exactly the same symptoms you described. The main bit of jiggery-pokery that solved the issue was to slide the backbox section up at the join with the centre section. This gave a little more clearance where the exhaust...

Re: dont you just love it

I had the same thing happen to me. Took the guys details and he paid cash for the repairs. Saves so much agro that way. Hi, This is only a good idea if you are able to accurately assess the extent of the damage yourself, as there may be hidden damage. Years ago, exactly this happened to a friend of...
