Re: Clear Rear lights,

Is this a real person or a bot? Dredging up a decade and a half old post to ask a question which you could answer yourself with an image search, and its the only question they have ever asked 🤔 plus why would you want "one" light cover? Don't know. :D (Been waiting weeks to use that Tom!!...

Re: Rear seat latch problem

I had a similar issue a few years back and it was mainly because the seats are just a total bitch to line up correctly. If you loosen them off and force it into place, tighten it up, worked for me...

Great find, Paul. Those pedal cars really are great.

Andrew.
Same! Would love to find a project one to restore - I might finally be able to say I've finished a project car!

Re: Laser + GL and now a 3.0S!

Hi Danny, That rocker cover looks the biz! Your struts look good too, what paint did you use? Andrew. It is very shiny, can't wait to put it on! To be fair, I only used Hammerite smooth black and smooth blue on the struts - I figured that I could get a nice enough finish considering that no one is ...

Another bump that all this stuff is still sat in my shed needing moving! Also have a sportex manifold (used for around 2 years before being replaced with my stainless) £40 Found some aftermarket speakers for the front doors I never fitted - £30 If no one wants any of it I'll start whacking it on :eb...

Re: Factory 2.0 pinto cam cover wanted

Danny, if you need a rocker cover I've got one you can have for nothing. It's a later wide gasket one and you will need to get the larger bolts/washers to fit it. I think it's a Sierra one with the baffle under the filler cap hole. Anyway, it's yours if you want it. Thanks Paul, very generous! My c...

Re: Factory 2.0 pinto cam cover wanted

Hi Danny Hope you're well. Thanks for your reply and offer. Ideally, I want the correct lip/edge type one that should be on mine. I'll bear yours in mind though and let you know. I can't believe how rare they seem to be! Cheers. No worries, I know - it almost seems that they were an optional choice...

Re: Heat Guns

I mean for a tenner what have you got to use? I'm sure the branded stuff has it's values if you use it all day everyday but for us at-home project-car DIY-ers I'm sure it will do me fine... If not, I'll get my money back in the next three years if it fails in the three times I use it in that period ...

Re: Factory 2.0 pinto cam cover wanted

Hi all, does anyone have a standard Ford cam cover, for a 1986 2.0 laser? I want to correctly reinstate the original airbox and support brackets/screws. To do this, I need the correct cover that has the 2 necessary holes on the side (like the one in the photo below). https://i.postimg.cc/KKbyxGPN/S...

Re: Laser + GL and now a 3.0S!

Been a while since there has been any update but in my defence I was sort of busy.... However, currently I seem to have a load of spare time on my hands! Not sure why... Made some new heater resistors for the GL and the Laser, rebuilt the heater motor assembly with a new fan for the Laser, just wait...

Re: Strut rebuild

Then you're stuffed. So my advice would remain that you should leave well alone. Maybe just remove the rubber gaiter for access to mask it all up. Then jubilee clip it back in place. In fact, even a tywrap would do it, depending on your OCD levels. Clean up the gaiter with Autoglym bumper gel or so...

Re: Strut rebuild

Not sure what bottom bolt you mean? Thought only the 2.8i units had a lock nut on the bottom. Take that off and the damper is upside down, with the rod threaded into the housing. However, on yours, if it is standard, you need to remove the rubber gaiter, then you'll see the big fat old collar at th...

Strut rebuild

Evening all! Spent the evening stripping the front suspension on the S to paint it all up, Haynes doesn't say anything about removing the damper though and I was hoping to take it off to be asked to paint it all up but can't figure it out for the life of me... I undid the bottom bolt but it didn't m...

Re: Alternator Connection’s

If Vehicle Wiring Products are still online and in business, they used to supply the correct snap-together fittings for the alternator plugs. Simply connect your wires into the plug, then fold it shut. In fact, they used to do EVERYTHING you may need. EDIT: Just looked and they are: https://www.veh...

Re: Relay and generator recce

The alternator doesn't have another connection in the middle either, I think it's just a spare? If you have the correct plug and loom it DOES have 3 wires: (Although pins 1 & 2 are linked so it could be made to work with just one, but as standard, nope all 3 are used.) You`re right about the di...
