Re: Easy upgrades for my 1600?

makes sense! i think i will deffo get the exhaust swapped and possibly a new cam. The engine in mine has only done 56000 and gets used rarely so hopefully i wont have those issues? i don't wanna go to extreme or spend to much, as in all honesty id rather just buy a 2.0l and then add to that. but any...

Re: Easy upgrades for my 1600?

I had a standard exhaust (many moons ago!) and since then I'm sure some of the guys on here will vouch for how loud it is these days! And yes the new cam I got was a standard 2.0 cam which was about £100 (brand new one, not taken from an old 2ltr engine). The exhaust manifold you have listed ...

Re: Easy upgrades for my 1600?

I've just had a 2ltr cam fitted into mine, along with a new 32/36 weber carb and a 3" sportex kit without any silencers, makes a massive difference!! Could go for a lair-ier cam as the one I fitted is a standard, could for a faster road cam or race cam as well Guessing you just have a standard...

Easy upgrades for my 1600?

Hi All, I'm sure this has been asked loads but can anyone recommend some relatively easy/cheap upgrades i could do to my 1.6 pinto to give it a bit more oomph! The threads i have found on the internet suggest swapping for a 2.0l and then starting from there. However i've decided i don't really want ...

Hi,
The pins of the badges only go through the fabric and foam, not into the actual metal back support.

Andrew.
in that case i may be able to diy some pins! cheers

Re: Recaro badges

brill cheers, i didn't realize you get your hand behind the cushion, first time ive attempted this job. will give it a go.

i may glue them straight on if i cant repair it, although would that cause the seat to start sagging? looked as if the badges pull the cushion tight to the seat.

Once i dig the plugs out from the seat and attempt to repair them does anyone know how they reattach? do i just click them back in? or do they require gluin...

Re: water pump replacement

Just started the car for first time after refitting everything and it red lines instantly. Any ideas what would cause it?. Scared me to death! ... on the bright side there’s no more leaks from water pump  Your throttle cable or the linkage on the carb must be jammed by something. Ah ok I thoug...

Haha I borrowed a pair of lockable grips on the pully with them pushed up against the thermostat housing so the pully wouldn’t move... common sense really

Re: water pump replacement

So I finally got the fan and water pump off! the “paper” seal was just slime.. no wonder it was leaking lol. Also just out of curiosity does anyone know why the blades on the fan aren’t evenly spaced? I would have thought it would be same as a desk fan for example. A couple blades seem chunkier as w...
