Back to your orriginal question, a working radiator which isn`t on its last legs is your best bet. I`d stick a standard rad in.

My std 2.8 never overheated EVER, infact I can only remember one occasion I saw the needle move to close to the middle of the heat gauge on the dash, that was a very hot day and I was hammering it up a hil at 80ish with a set of ladders on the roof 2 people up and all my tools in the boot. I`d be mo...

Oh is your PCV no more and just open?

last time I had a pinto, it wasnt smoking on idle unless it got very hot.. you could also have a knackered rocker gasket too, that there oil finds it way in many places.

Part of the reason I love capri`s so much is because of the Police Capris, my primary school was lietrally 300 yrds down from the cop shop, you`d be in for a treat if the police capris came out of the station at full speed :lowrider:

I bet if you did a search on here for jets it would bring you some answers....or call burton power and they`ll give you the jets and a fairly decent price.

Same question as rich, whos this seller?

Re: Fifth Gear Fuel economy devices test.

Its all theory and fact isn`t it? In theory a 38dgas wont work on a 1.6 unmodified pinto, infact it does, in theory a non injection fuel sender wont work on a injection car when infact it does. How do I know these things? I went and tested them and done it... Its like those electric turbos, I actual...

Re: Quarter light window Seals and rubber scuttles

Their stuff is ok, you have to consider most of their stuff is for people doing full on resto`s and will sit at the dining room table for 8hrs to get a bend in a piece of trim, basically it doesnt just fit, but with work it does look fine and work, well thats the case on the door seals and window tr...

Re: Fuse 6 (16 Amp) shorting!

Ah its a live feed then, its probably cable fault, are you any good with the multimeter? You could disconect all the electrical items on that fuse, see if it pops, if not carefully re-conect and see which causes the pop and work backwards from there

Re: Fuse 6 (16 Amp) shorting!

From reading that, it appears the actual spung connector on the boot lid is at fault? They have a exposed soldered wire on the inside it COULD be earthing out... Disconect the switch and see what happens, electrical fault finding is a swine, it could be the dash switch too!

Re: Fuel sender unit

Or take the float and pot off the new one and attach to the old one, but as bug says the easiest way is to block the return off if its for a 2.0 or 3.0. I`ve done that many times :goodluck:

Re: electric fuel pump

Mechanical pumps are only £30 ish from burtons? i`d stick with the well proven mech pump..however if your handy with electrics you will need a timed relay to prime the pump and carb you can get the trigger from the starter circuit and a constant voltage when the engine is running, on my old V8 I got...

Re: Wng replacement

I`m with peter, my last blue one had bad wings, genuines wings though, so I spent 2-3 hrs patching and butt welding them up, by my calculations it was quicker and a lot cheaper to fix the genuines, unless these bubbles are around the headlamp area? Lots of curves down there.

Re: what to do?? moddify or concourse???

Its your car do what you want! But forget the V6, stick a mental 2 liter in there and leave it at that. Its fully reversable then plus it looks fairly standard unless you have a decent set of carbs on. The v6 route is a lot of work for little gain (except the noise) :lowrider:
