Re: PM Notifications
I have mentioned it to Beakster, not had any reply yet though. It's a shame that there isn't more admin to spare the time to look into stuff.

Re: old pinto engine?
I look on ebay but some must think they are selling a magical item... That's a big problem at the moment I think Chris. A lot of people seem to think that every old car part is worth millions. Just because something is old or rare it doesn't mean it's valuable! Good luck with finding the engine, gr...

Great pics, thanks for putting them all up, enjoyed looking through them. I'll take that black 3.0S thanks The spoiler on that Janspeed 3.0 is very unusual, what is that?

PM Notifications
I used to get e-mail notification when a PM is sent to me, but since the changes to the site (unless it's coincidental) that doesn't seem to happen anymore. Anyone else still get them? I've checked the settings and it is still set correctly.

A bit late now, but it's shown on the Capri Wheeler Dealers episode. You will find it on youtube if you wish to take a look.

Re: capri broken down !! please help
Does anyone know how to use a voltage tester to see if the spare wire at the light really is live. ? It's difficult to say exactly without seeing the multimeter. But, probably turn the dial so it's pointing at 20v DC (or similar), and place the red probe in the spare wire, and the black to earth (e...

Re: 2.0 Brake Servo
Thanks Peter, I thought I'd seen one in there. I'm inclined to think that parts are coming and going constantly through CCI, so it's often worth a phone call for that part you may be struggling to get.

That spare wire you mention, is on the 2.0 also, same place.Swishy wrote:...to find a switched 12v feed - black wire on bulkhead roughly beneath the headlamp relay) - this will bypass the ballast feed. If this makes it start you know the ballast resistor is at fault.

...I imagine that this would be flagged up by an onboard Police NPR camera. Because of this, you most likely will be pulled over by the Police and the car checked over... I've never actually heard of that happening. Perhaps someone else has? I doubt that it's the done thing, with the 'grey area' as...

Thanks Steve, nicely explained/confirmed.stevemarl wrote:No, you don`t need to get it repaired immediately, you have a valid MOT till the old one expires. BUT, as Paul says, you can at any time be stopped by the police and prosecuted for having a defective vehicle, MOT or not.

Re: capri broken down !! please help
Though there seems to be reports that new condensers can fail, it seems unlikely that you keep buying one faulty one after another, so perhaps something else is at fault. Changing over to electronic ignition may just mask that issue for a time, but the problem you have will remain unfixed maybe. Sor...

Re: wanted capri, any spec. prefer with mot. £2000 limit
Looking for a cheap Capri if anyone got one don't matter on condition Around 500 not a lot but all I got I do hope that you can find one to fulfil your wish. If I recall correctly then unfortunately your Capri driving time may be limited, if that is the case have you considered perhaps loaning one ...
