Re: v6 essex power figures?

It's all about the Torque so I'm going to guess a peak 230lb at 3,250rpm.

Re: is it the time of month or something

I think there's two different scenes really. There's the 'heritage' capri scene, which is where the cars with provenance like Mike's fit- and when you get that there will always be fighting over who's got the best collection, most money to throw at restorations etc... Along with all that shit about ...

I've heard she's also tasted Freddo's milky bar, and has a Jelly baby with some guy from Yorkie, although he's sure it's Terry's.

Re: Capri with a Diesel engine, possible?

I agree there's a lot of stonking diesel engines out there now. Just like having an essex in terms of driving style and performance peaks, but with double the miles per tank. There was, several years ago, a white LS with a black vinyl roof floating on ebay with a 1.7 litre Isuzu / vauxhall engine. S...

Re: what will i have to change or modify?

A strut brace is one of the best things you can buy for a capri, handling wise. Fact. There's no point having a tuned to the hilt back end if the front is as saggy as an old tarts arse. Especially if you are going V6 it's an absolute must. Adds some reinforcement too.

Re: New Capri - New questions!

Or you could just use rubber bushes on all the impact points... which is cheaper and might work ;) Either way... Inverse frequencies... I don't think noise cancelling works that way. I might be wrong. There is no 'opposite' frequency as such, so you can't have 'negative' frequencies. You can only tr...

Re: New Capri - New questions!

With the exhaust, you're just hitting a resonant frequency at 1,500rpm. Because the exhaust is an amplifying sound producer (works exactly the same as a guitar except the engine beats are the strings- the faster they go the 'higher' the note caused by the escaping gasses), it will hit a certain poin...

Well now... this does really depend on whether you mean the front seats or the back ones!

I'm 6'2" and I feel small in mine. All part of the fun 8-) Loadsa leg room.

Re: RS3100 Ducktail spoiler on a MK3?

I'm sure I've seen them being made for Mk3s specifically... Have no idea where from but wasn't some bloke making ones for mk3 boots? Seem to remember it didn't look particularly good. They might even have been steel rather than fibreglass!

Re: what will i have to change or modify?

To be honest, and I'm playing devils advocate in a way here because in an ideal world I WOULD re-inforce, I've got a 1.6 shell which had been running an Essex for about 5 years, and coped absolutely fine. It had a strut brace and 2.8i suspension and brakes. The chassis coped with the extra weight no...

I want one. Balls to pistons, it's got two jet ingines*! I think that's a cracking piece of engineering. Would melt the paint off any tailgaiting white van men too  Although I do doubtturbine electrics are the future, I do think it's an interesting idea, and just image what it'll sound like...

2.0 pinto good option for you, having never done an engine swap I fitted a Cossie to mine. TKC is right if you don't have a 2.8 to start with you're looking at £2k and a lot of sweat, blood, time and tears!

Re: what engine would you fit?

McMerc supercharged V8 out of the McMerc SLR. One of the best sounding car engines of all time. Alternatively, and what I would really do, is fit a capri with a fuel cell. I'm a huge fan of the idea. Instant and permenant torque, good fuel economy, and truly eco friendly (once you've got your hydrog...
