Air Filter

Hi All, I've got a Mk III Laser 1.6, and I'm upgrading my vv carb to a Weber 32/36. I'm looking for a suitable air filter. Anyone have anything suitable for a reasonable price? They're new for about 50 quid plus postage (to Ireland), but I was hoping to get off a bit lighter than that if possible (S...

Re: From Carb Upgrade to Air Filter

Thanks for the reply. One more question though. I looked at a site that sells these, and when I view a filter, it only seems to have the soft bit, the actual filter, like this: http://www.fastroadcars.co.uk/shop/images/uploads/ITG_ZZ801.jpeg But surely it needs some kind of metal frame or housing to...

From Carb Upgrade to Air Filter

A quick inquiry... Thanks to some good advice from the members here, I managed to source a carburetor upgrade from Essexboy to fit my Pinto 1.6. I'm replacing the VV carb with a weber 32/36. The question now is, what air filter do I now need to fit the Weber? Looking online for suitable ones, I see ...

Re: Carb Question

I have another question. I saw this setup on fastroadcars: http://www.fastroadcars.co.uk/shop/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=115 It includes a carb, manifold, air filter and throttle linkage. If I'm converting from a vv to a 32/38, do I need a new throttle linkage, or will the old one do? If s...

Re: Carb Question

Does the weber 32/36 fit on ok?

It's a 1.6 pinto. Will it fit straight on without adapting?

Is the carb and the intake manifold still going? How much?

2 litre carb and manifold

Based on this thread:

viewtopic.php?f=13&t=32552&start=0&st=0&sk=t&sd=a

It looks like I need a carb and an intake manifold from a 2 litre to put on my 1.6 laser.

Anyone might be able to flog one?

Thanks,

Billy.

Re: Carb Question

I looked at the parts catalogue, and it looks like the VV alright. Funny thing is, there was an old 32/36 Weber in the boot when I bought it, but it could well be knackered. Should have tipped me off there was a carb problem when I got it. The mechanic mentioned that the vv is renowned for problems,...

Carb Question

Dear Sirs (and indeed Madams), I apologise in advnce for the newbie level of this question, but please hear me out. I bought a Mk III 1.6 laser recently, cos I always wanted a Capri since I was a small lad. I've never had a car I liked, until now. The trouble is, the car was laid up for four years w...

1.6 Radiator Alternatives

I have a 1986 Laser 1.6, and the radiator is knackered. Are there any alternative radiators I could use? Are rads from any other cars suitable? Failing the above route, I'll need to get a new one. Where might be a good bet, seeing as though I live in Ireland? If I buy in the UK and get it shipped ov...
