Re: 2.8i Fuel Pump ??
Interesting find. I put a black painted one that looked like that on mine (came from random internet seller) - it cost under £50, and it lasted a year. I think theres a thread on here where it had stopped working soon after fitting and I couldn't quite believe the pump was the problem. Euro car part...

Re: Just got done speeding...
on a serious note I have realised this week that my speedo reads under by about 6mph at 30mph, so I need to sort that otherwise I could be getting into trouble like this too. Need to get a GPS or something to see how out it is at an indicated 70.

Check out tetraboost.com. Looks like still available, and now also has ethanol treatment too.

The fishtailing Sierra with the mid digit flicked to the Citroen is not a good look. Well done 'Barry'.

Re: E10 Petrol in September
Hi. I was reading the letters/Q&A page in Classic Cars magazine this month, and there was a question about E10 and it reminded me of this thread. Here is the response. In short - super unleaded will remain E5 (or in some cases like Esso, ethanol free) for the foreseeable. So we all just use supe...

Re: Tax Exemption Age Reduction
Second that. I'd not remind anyone that anything gets an exemption. Given that it was originally fixed at what, 1970-something, and then became 40 years rolling I'd be thankful it still exists at all.

Re: Rear bonnet stickers
Ask DMB Graphics if they can do a custom one for you.
or
Buy a 2.0 sticker, and a 1.6 sticker, and then use the 1 from the 1.6. You'll have to space it up carefully but sure its possible if you cut them carefully and sellotape the backing together before you fit it.

The reserve collection in the other building is pretty cool. Two XJ220s together (show car, and first production one I think, or maybe the last). way cool. Never seen that XJ convertible, that is a PROPER spivs motah, imagine the crumpet you'd be pulling in that! That Princess thing looks like it sh...

Re: I know we should be thankful, but.
A similar thing came up a couple of weeks back where someone had bought a viscous coupling. IIRC it still had the Land Rover part number on it, and checking it turned out to be significantly cheaper to get the exact same item from a LR dealer. That was the one I ordered from CCI. It was a Britpart ...

Re: Noel's car
Jenkins Motor Engineers did all the work, and I just got all the extra bits together. They are in Whitton south west London - traditional engine machine shop, but with full garage facilities too so a one stop shop. Despite being very local to me, I never knew they existed until a friend showed me hi...

Re: Noel's car
Hello been over 3 years so time for update. Long term rough running and low power finally had to be addressed. I had compression tests done last year which found one cylinder with tight exhaust valve clearance and low compression. Re-setting tappet did not solve this, so knackered valve suspected. N...

Re: It boils my p***
Wouldn't lose hope over one car.
It is priced because of the Diana connection, and to be fair it has 100% solid provenance and it definitely had her arse sat on the drivers seat.
The good news is its buggaring off to Chile so little chance of having to see it ever again!
Trying to stay positive here.

Re: rubber hoses
There is a Bumper Gel and a Tyre Gel. Bumper is sold as being for exterior plastics and rubbers, Tyre gel is for rubber tyres only.
I reckon they are basically the same thing (apart from the colour) but if I was doing only rubber items I would use the tyre gel.

Re: rubber hoses
The Autoglym tyre gel does anything rubbery a power of good, its much richer than their "vinyl and rubber care". Did the rear spoiler with it too, and it has a nice blackness and suppleness to it even though its 38 years old.

Re: My 2.0S
Sorry to geek out, but how much does this weigh? A trip on the weighbridge would be as interesting as the rollers. As noted its the lardness of modern hatches that allows you to embarrass them with a relatively modest headline power output. I had a new Mini Cooper until last year, and that had a ker...
