Re: Laser + GL

Ok, just checked out the video on my PC. Yeah, thats a nice noise! Sounds exactly like mine does, just a tad louder lol. Does your exhaust have any sort of rear silencer, or is it straight through like this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Capri-pinto-exhaust-single-silencer-system-3-exit-1-6-2-0-X...

Re: My first capri, A-REG 2.0 S restoration

Absolutely knackered as I've been working on this all day but its finally finished! Obviously I still need to get a new S stripe kit but thats going to have to wait a while so I can save up for a new one lol. I spent all my money on new headlights and paint supplies, I figured actually being able to...

I'm on a phone so that's likely the issue. I'm too lazy to move and fire up the desktop right now lol

Re: Laser + GL

I'd love to watch it as I'm curious how loud your exhaust is (wondering if it's as loud as mine) but unfortunately it doesn't play, I can see your dashboard and that's about it.

Re: My first capri, A-REG 2.0 S restoration

Very nice job, well done. im thinking of repainting the bonnet matte black anyhow. It's difficult to tell how that would look until it's done. With that in mind, it might be a better idea to wrap the bonnet instead of painting it. That way, if you change your mind it's much easier to go back to how...

Re: My first capri, A-REG 2.0 S restoration

Pretty much all done. I still need to wet sand everything down and polish it, but thats going to have to wait a few days. Dodgy car salesman photos incoming (it was raining so everything is wet, hiding all the flaws lol): https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1977/44794430132_2f6dcea258_c.jpg https://farm2...

Re: My first capri, A-REG 2.0 S restoration

No problem. I used to be worried about it too but after I did it a few times I soon picked it up now it doesn't worry me so much.
I'll be sure to update the thread once I'm done, especially once I get the front spoiler back on after the paint dries.

Re: Laser + GL

What mods did you have to do to get your 1600 up to 103 bhp ? That's a very figure for a 2 litre Pinto let alone a 1.6 I like to think that's what mine is putting out, but it's more likely around the 75/80 hp mark. Though I do have a Weber and a sportex exhaust system and it is a reconditioned 205 ...

Re: My first capri, A-REG 2.0 S restoration

So you wet sand with a grad of sand paper then it’s the polish bit that I hate as I could never find the right sponge or grade and I went really wrong on a mondeo many years ago . So have always been scared to touch a car again . I should get panel and have a play really . You should do a you tube ...

Re: My first capri, A-REG 2.0 S restoration

Paint done. I'm going to give this a few days to fully cure and harden before i wet sand everything down and polish it. Here's hoping the match is close as I have no idea what it looks like in natural light yet, but i'm feeling pretty confident it will be good enough. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/...

Exactly, otherwise this car would probably fall into disrepair. I can do bodywork I just can't weld. I really ought to learn how some day.

Re: My first capri, A-REG 2.0 S restoration

So thankfully the metal cancer hadn't spread too far, so in the end we made the best out of a bad situation, and I'm happy with the results thanks to my dads welding. One thin skin of filler and some sanding later and I'm pretty happy: https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1880/43897410285_5c81da27f9_c.jpg...

Re: My first capri, A-REG 2.0 S restoration

SLOOOOOWWW progress. I have the dings ironed out of the wing and door, somehow they look straighter now than before so I dunno how I managed that lol. Also FINALLY got my RGA front spoiler fitted! (only took me a year) This took A LOT of fiddling and cutting and modifying to get it to fit right, whi...

Re: Cool Dash Mat fitted ! Review and Pictures !

It's unfortunate that there's no holes cut for the vents so you can still use the window demisters. I feel like that's a bit of an oversight considering these are meant as a semi permanent thing.

This for a nice low mileage one that has good oil pressure : https://www.amazon.co.uk/Comma-XFXS5L-X-Flow-10W40-Litre/dp/B00DYTO5VE Or this for a not so nice high mileage one that has less oil pressure : https://www.amazon.co.uk/VALVOLINE-VR1-20w-Racing-Litres/dp/B0030H7GUW/ref=sr_1_1?s=automotive&...

So..... long story short, which brands of oil should I use for a pinto that has all the necessary benefits? That was a bit of an information dump lol.
