All these :swear: run around London in Range Rover convoys while preaching to us about buying an EV  My favourite was the climate summit COP21 in Glasgow. Re: Valve Seat Recession questions
Could it be damaged teeth on the ring gear? Something I have found on some cars the starter needs to be pushed towards the engine when tightening the bolts/nuts especially on non standard starters. I have seen some starters with over large mounting holes maybe to allow for manufacturing tolerances,...

If you put a set of Jump leads from another car that is running too yours does it start any better? It is well worth removing the lead from the starter motor and checki...

Re: Valve Seat Recession questions
I have seen engines with the valves so far recessed into the cylinder head they had gone into the water jacket and wrecked the heads. Yes I remember you saying something like this recently, it's one of the reasons I'm getting mine done. I think I've adjusted them back three or four times at least n...

Re: Valve Seat Recession questions
That is very cheap, are you sure that is not per valve? My local guy charges between £350 and £500 for a 4 cylinder head depending on how bad they are. I am sure he said the inserts alone are about £30 each. I'll double check when I call back, but I don't think it was per valve.. I was expecting it...

Re: Valve Seat Recession questions
I got a quote recently of £240+VAT from a company in MK to supply and fit the valve seats (all 4) - not including new valves if needed etc I was about to book it in but Phil at Capri Care has thrown me - he has said that he has never hardened any valve seats on any car he runs and never had an issu...

Andyd your reply has been deleted 🤔 In a rush to edit it and deleted instead  Ahhh I have done the same thing. My most hated mistake (on a phone or tablet) is just getting to the end of a long post, then hitting some as yet unknown keystroke and deleting the whole thing by mistake :swear:
