Re: my fuel gauge has stopped working

Hi Dan, The bullet connector should be a snug fit on the sender connectors, try some blue ones. The squeaking suspension might just be a dry bush. Try spraying some WD40 around the area of rubber bushes. The clunking noise when the handbrake is applied should be checked out. Maybe there is smething ...

Re: Screen wash pot and Expansion Pot

Hi Toby,
Try Martin, see if he's got anything.
If you like bling and aren't that worried about originality there's a comany called Mirage that makes stainless steel washer/coolant reservoirs.

All the best,
Andrew.

Re: Introducing Terry Cruise, 2.0 laser

Hi Rich (and Terry!),
Yep, a really nice Capri, I'm sure it'll provide loads of smiles and fun drives.
I suppose the name makes sense! Though I've never heard of Terry Crews, I had to Google him. :?

All the best,
Andrew.

Hi,
Nice tidy motor you've got there, more photos are needed! :) Do I understand the title of the thread correctly? You've named the car Terry Cruise?

Re: Right type of fuel to use.

Being abit inexperienced an no 4 star Hi, As ridiculous as it sounds in this day and age, it is still possible to buy leaded petrol from selected garages in the UK. If you want to use leaded check out this list, there may be a garage close to you. Maybe fill up every so often with leaded to maintai...

I've also noticed a cup of drops of oil have appeared since Sunday, half way along under car from prop shaft?? Again hopefully it's nothing to serious?? Hi, That could be the rear gearbox seal. Shouldn't be too expensive for your mechanic to fix. Hopefully the car will soon be given the all-clear a...

Hi,
Your car looks stunning, it's a credit to you. Personally, I like pepperpots, but you'll probably upset the purists by putting a set on an S! But who cares what the purists say?

Keep up the good work,
Andrew.

Looks like a beautiful car from the photos. I hope the seller gave the old boy a fair price for it.

Hi,
Glad you've sold the car. As Andy says, it would be nice if it's gone to a good home as it would make a lovely car for somebody.

All the best,
Andrew.

Re: Finally got my capri 2.8

Hi again,
If the fluid is near the strut, could it be brake fluid leaking? Best to carefully check the brake pipe for leaks. If you didn't already know, PAS fluid is distinctive as it is red.

All the best,
Andrew.

Re: Finally got my capri 2.8

Hi Dave, Really nice 2.8 you have there, nice one! :) If the PAS is leaking fluid, it could be the pipe unions loose. Check those first before splashing out on a new rack. I think leaks are quite common on these systems. If you do need a recon rack, be sure to shop around as prices vary greatly. Goo...

Hi Peter,
Great write-up explaining the workings of this mysterious part of the injection system. Very brave of you to attempt a refurb, especially as the potential is there for it to go horribly wrong! Great that it's worked out well in the end.

All the best,
Andrew.

Re: Black dash wanted

Hi Les,
Speaking from experience, the CCI dash needs a lot of fettling to make it fit. See my thread in the projects section for my attempt. Mind you, a skilled craftsman such as you, would probably be able to make a better go of it than I am able to.

Andrew.

Re: Black dash wanted

Hi Les,
The dashes in black don't seem to fetch silly money like the grey ones. As Nick says, phone around a few places, someone is bound to have one. Bet you can't wait to get rid of the brown dash, especially if it's been cut about.

All the best,
Andrew.
