Re: Fitting Superflex TCA Inner Bushes
Glad you finally got it stuck in.
I thought of this thread at the weekend when the kids had found a Wheeler Dealers Capri clip on youtube. Edd China does the TCA bushes on that, and of course makes it look very easy.

Also try parts sources for other cars that used the Essex.

Re: FORD CAPRI MK3 FRONT VALANCE
I bought an identical panel for mine, probably about the same time the seller got that. Ford dealers still listed them. Even as a genuine new panel it cost less than 10% of the price being asked on that listing. To me it is entirely acceptable to profit on rare old stuff you bother to keep, especial...

Re: Time
Winter is a problem time for car work unless you have a big enough garage to work in - which I don't. I have this Autumn erected a car port in front of the garage so in theory I can leave the car out during jobs, up on stands etc, and it won't get rained on, and neither will I if it rains mid-job. A...

Re: Most Expensive Capri ?
I know some people get excited about better-than-factory restorations and all that (and it is impressive) but its not something I really get, like trailer-ing cars to shows just for everyone to have a look at, then take it home after. This is being sold as an artefact to look at, and for someone to ...

Glad it was a simple fix. I think studs are readily available from numerous sources if you need to change them.

Re: Testing Top Mounts?
The new wheel stud threads stop short for the steel wheels. Although i've fitted nuts without a back and got them down as tight as possible I'm wondering if its that. I'd eliminate that before suspecting anything else, if its worst when cornering it could be the wheel writhing around on the studs i...

Re: Trouble Bleeding Brakes following MC Rebuild
Another thing that can happen is the rear seal in the cylinder can fail . This can be awkward as it usually sucks air in and doesnt actually leak fluid . Pita when trying to bleed as it sucks air in as fast as you can bleed it out at the other end . Not usually enough to cause complete failure but ...

Re: laser front and rear seats ,
On this topic, was watching the Persuaders earlier in the year with the kids, and it had the chopped 4:3 to 16:9 thing. It was ridiculous because it was so zoomed in the fights looked like a joke (and the fights in the Persuaders stuff is pretty un-serious to start with). Found that someone has uplo...

Re: Tickover closing Workshop for good
This is a shame, I spoke to them last autumn about doing unleaded heads on my car, and they were not taking new jobs due to a backlog. You're not too far from me (Cambridge) are you? Still need em done? Thanks but got them done this summer as per: http://www.fordcapriforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f...

Question on gearbox mount. Nicks has the round bell shaped thing on it. I was under mine last week fitting a new speedo cable and was thinking the rubber mount looked a bit oily, but mine doesn't have that bell thing on it. Is that a big deal? Mines on it's third gearbox so is it possible someone le...

Talking of seat covers - what the ABSOLUTE FLIP is going on with the drivers seat on that Mustang? Lumps under the leather, seam bulging in two places? Looks shoddy.

Re: Door card removal / fixing new door mirror
Yes its the only way to access the mirror bolts and nuts. If you have the door arm rest handle off, you then need to slide off the plastic retaining surround of the release handle (slide it off forwards, always feels like its going to break). Then the card is held on with plastic push clips all arou...

Re: The car in front is a Toyota
Metal prices up, so its worth it again. Check out the price of palladium - its double what it was 2-3 years ago. Older Japanese cars are favourite as the cats contain more of the expensive metals. State of that wishbone is that incredible build quality of Toyota, I mean I am sure the engine is bulle...

Subaru wishbones do the same, so I've read. You have to be careful buying older Imprezas.
