Re: NEC classic car show Nov 2014

That couple with the red Laser should be very proud, from the photos you'd be forgiven for mistakenly believing that the car had just been driven out of the showroom Correct. Like new or what? I keep finding myself staring at that one too, unbelieveable. Just how many hours (and pounds) go into rea...

Re: Crooklock and such

I bow that often I can't straighten my back :D These diskloks are expensive, and I know that I had a right struggle finding one when I wanted mine. Had to travel to a local-ish car shop that I've never been to before after ringing round for ages. As regards to the mention of the protective covers th...

Re: car battery

I did think of taking a pic in Aldi, but didn't want to look wierd! It's very similar to this, it had a hanging hook at the top, and can be used handheld also -

Re: car battery

Hi Nick, just thought I'd mention that our good friend Aldi currently have workshop/garage lights in stock. They are LED, similar to the ones talked about on here only bigger. Rechargeable (comes with a mains adapter/charger), and rechargeable batteries are included but are standard size ones, AA I ...

Is that the reason for the hanging tarpaulin?

Re: Crooklock and such

Another vote for the Disklok here. As said, the small one fits the standard Capri wheel (on a Laser anyway). And it fits very nicely on the floor behind the passenger seat too.

Re: Bumper Repair Which Paint

I'll be doing the same as you sometime Dan and taking both mine off as the front one has some scabs in various places. I just wanted to tidy that one up on the back with a quick fix to stop it getting any worse in the meantime.

True that. I fitted a new coil, car kept konking out with it. Put the 30 year old one back on, all's fine again.

Re: NEC classic car show Nov 2014

Great pics. Always amazes me when I see old cars which are just so perfect, and what work and time goes into them to make them like that. I see them as ornaments and show pieces as opposed to a usuable car. That's not meant to be a criticism though.

Still can't understand why people don't just decide on a price and ask for it.

Neil,
In my opinion, it is definitely worth joining for the £30 or so it costs per year.

Andrew.
Definitely. The cost of the magazine (at only £2.50 each for a member renewing) is worth it alone.
