Original colour?

I have an '85 2.8i Special. I'm pretty sure it's been resprayed at some point in it's life, but I'm not certain whether the colour combination is original? Its Paris Blue over Silver. I know that Paris Blue IS the original colour; however, I don't think I've ever seen a two-tone one, which makes me ...

Sounds like a tractor.

A tractor-beam for ladies, that is.

Great job on the seats. I can't believe what a difference it made.

Re: 2.8 Special

Back from the bodyshop after having bonnet painted to remove stone chips.

I think they've done a good job with colour matching.

Re: 'Like' function

I agree in part with your point; however, I have read many interesting posts that received minimal feedback - I wouldn't want the authors to be discouraged!

On balance, I think this forum feels very authentic, so perhaps you're right to suggest we keep it as uncomplicated as possible.

Fucking hell, just looked at that. Apologies.

Sorry, noboby wants a bloody massive face of a fat bastard on their intial inspection of a thread. Wife dilutes matters somewhat, but it's probably like watering-down absinthe with gin - i.e. it's still going to make you very, very ill.

Me, kids and wife. Feel a bit mean, as she's actually rather nice. Just not about the car nor anything to do with it!

Re: The best part of ownership?

Lucky guess!! I'm sure you don't think I'd say any of this stuff to her face?! She can melt floorpans with a single word from her tongue! I think there's a thread that allows you to post photos of yourself. I'll stick a few photos of my (lovely) kids and the car. My wife doesn't show up in photograp...

Re: 2.8 Special

Cheers brother! I'm not always so sure. The stereo seems a bit dodgy - the factory-fitted CD player is obviously non-standard (not wide enough and way too deep) - so I tried a mini-disc, which didn't fit either. It does hold an ipod end-on; although, it falls out every time I drive over a bump. Joki...

I'm probably too far into the contents of my fridge now - after all, who really needs a Creme de menthe with an advocaat and cherry brandy chaser? The thing is, there are so many great posts on this board that I want to reply to most of them; however, if I did, or we all did, the board would be clog...

The best part of ownership?

I've always thought it's good to analyse your motives for doing something, as it stops you from blundering down a path that might get you in a spot of bother. I like to think that the sole reason I bought my Capri is because I've always hankered after one. However, in the few weeks I've been driving...

Re: Euro NCAP

Thanks, that's exactly what I wanted to hear! My two kids are 4 and 5 years-old respectively. They weren't planned that close together, but we've finally worked out what causing it - and I'm told that we won't be doing THAT anymore. Despite what I originally thought, the Capri probably makes THAT ev...

It's going in to the shop next week to have several panels sprayed to get rid of a few annoying stone chips.
