Re: Leaking petrol when full tank

The breather pipe on mine is on the top of the passenger side, you can feel it whilst it fitted to the car, but iy has to come off to be fixed.

All fuel removed & more importantly it has to be completely dry inside & vented free of fumes before being brazed / welded to be repaired properly

Re: Leaking petrol when full tank

Not sure about a 2.8 tank but when we refurbed my 3.0 one, after prepping & painting it, it was corroded / pitted around the breather pipe on the top surface of the tank which when filled leaked.

Had to have the tank removed & had it repaired properly

Re: 3.0S Interior trim/wiring

Evening all, glad I wasn't going completely doolally :D & had not intended to pee on anyones parade ;) Don't know if this link works without having to log onto Capri Power, mine is a March 81 3.0 Ghia so I bought the January, February & March brochures off eBay when I bought the car 5 years ...

Re: 3.0S Interior trim/wiring

Excellent info there but isn't yours a 3.0 ?

That brochure is for the later model range when the 2.8's replaced the 3.0 & the range was trimmed from the previous L, GL, S & Ghia etc or did I misunderstand what you were after ?

Knowing how much effort went into the book & the subject matter being on my wavelength, its one of those books I need to take my time to read & absorb it properly, in stages of course ;) …. even I cant eat an elephant in one sitting :xd: I'm confident I will read it quicker than it took to w...

Did I dream it or were there more Mk3 3.0 Ghia's made / sold than 3.0 S's ?

Could be Rioja fuelled beffuddleness

Re: RS2800 Prototype

I do indeed have your book Steve, the posh version at that too ;) …… though sadly I have had precious little time to get very far into it, it will however not be an ornament, I will get to it properly one of these days ;)

Re: RS2800 Prototype

Have to agree, one of the reasons I sort out a mk3 Ghia over a "S" model was the look & feel of the interior, so pleased when I found my 81 Cobalt Blue with blue Verona interior ;)

I bought a brand new one from a very reputable UK dealer when mine was undergoing its little cough, err polish up  , cough , no slight on them intended. It was brand new & regardless of which mixture or adjustment screw was wound all the way in or out, it made bugger all difference, selle...

I'll forgive you :D

I haven't watched it for years, too bloody depressing, even the wife hasn't watched it for 5 years plus, it gets instantly switched over should it accidently find itself sullying our screen :xd:
