Re: Speedo ratio question (also cossie rev counter question)
There is a way of getting the original v6 tacho to work but as your using wasted spark system you will need to replicate 6 pulses per revo your current setup will put out 3 pulses so if you connected your ECU tacho it will be half the Revs. Theres a cheap way and an expensive way. http://www.msextra...

Re: hardened valve seats
Had mine done 3 year ago. Cost me 325 that included bronze valve liners, Pressure testing, hardened valve seats exhaust side only needed and all the valves hand lapped to set correctly. I had ported, polished and flow checked it myself so the heads were nice and clean for my old skool Engineer build...

Re: Ford Cologne 2.8 V6 Efi setup
Thats crazy!!
I only paid 250 and that was for a complete engine!!
Gives good power gain but even better if you get rid of the MAF's!!

Re: windscreen rubber and plastic trim replacement.
Dont get me wrong but i thought it depended on the screen size for the mk2-mk3 windscreens i.e.
a mk3 windscreen will fit a mk2 shell if it has the mk3 rubber to go with it. and a mk2 screen will fit a mk3 shell if it has the mk2 rubber.
thought mk1 was a different beast.

Re: Pinto 1.6 breather
Just block the holes on the manifold. you dont technically need all those bits, all it does is suck the crack case gasses recycling them (plus you loose abit of power) Infact when you switch to throttle bodies you have get rid of it all and just leave the PCV valve in the block vented to atmosphere ...

Re: Problems after replacing points, condenser and rotor arm
I would adjust the idle up a tad to 800-900rpm as the pinto likes to run a little smoother. Then once running check there are no leaks on the vacumn pipe from the carb to the Dizzy Gets some brake cleaner and spray a little around the inlet manifold and base of carb. check to see if the engine revs ...

Duration is how long the valve is open for.
Lift is how much the valve is open by.

Re: Rear axle/Diff
With both wheels off the ground
LSD Axle = Both wheels spin in the same direction
Non LSD (open diff) = Spin one wheel the other rotates in the opposite direction.

Re: unleaded / lpg additives
Forgot to add the Flash lube you can buy a bottle that connects to the vac line on the carb. it will then pull a set amount of lube through when driving. it can be used for petrol as well but I dont think it has the same effect as valvemaster etc. as its for more a cooling affect then providing a lu...

Re: unleaded / lpg additives
In my old 2l pint'd capri, I ran Flash lube for about 3 years on LPG. I didnt even have unleaded valve seats. took the head off and it looked mint. Changed the head over anyway to an unleaded sierra one which had been ported and polished and bigger valves, so that was the only reason for me changing...

Re: Gearbox / diff oil change
Take the PropShaft off and then jack the front of the car up. that will empty most of the oil out of the box through the prop hole. Then replace and fill the box with the car level until it pours out the hole. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Castrol-B373-LSD-oil-1-litre-suit-Mk1-Mk2-Escort-English-Atlas-r...

Gaz.
Put some oil in with the new insert this will help stop the strut from rusting inside out.

locating bolt on the leaf goes to the axle hole and U-bolts clamp it all together.
no bushes required for that bit.
