Euro NCAP

I guess we've all got blind spots in our lives which, by definition, we are unaware of. I've got two young children who, thankfully, think the Capri is great. Because of this, they are keen to be driven around in it - which is the source of my immediate problem. Whilst my wife is happy for me to to ...

Re: To buy... or not to buy

It could get very expensive.

You will also need to budget for at least one shitty stick to beat the ladies off with.

Re: To buy... or not to buy

I certainly love your attitude - as it would be quite a car! However, it might be more wise to try out a (say) £3k Capri to see how you get on with it. If it's fine, then sell the £3k vehicle and splash out on a more costly example. My wife talked me into buying a caravan (I know, I know). I knew sh...

Re: Capri Half Life

To avoid the painful task of putting my two youngsters to bed, I've told the wife that I've got lots of work to do. In truth, I've quickly downloaded and analysed the data to get a more accurate picture of what's still out there! Again, apologies if this is ball-achingly dull for some of you! The do...

Re: winter car covers advice needed

You may find that a tame local may rent his garage to you?

I vaguely recall someone saying that the going rate was about a fiver a week?

Capri Half Life

I made the terrible mistake of drinking a massive cup of weapons-grade coffee from Cambridge services on the way back from Gloucester, so I've arrived home absolutely wired and unable to sleep! Whilst the alcoholic antidote is kicking in, I thought I'd ask peoples' opinion regarding how many Capris ...

Re: Insane insurnace

Does being foreign mean you get cheaper insurance - or are you being a tad bigoted?

I take exception to your comment, as my car engine is from Germany.

Dyno

I was curious to know if anyone had put their stock Capri on a dyno recently?

If so, how many horses had bolted?

...should read £4k and some change - i.e. I didn't get any change from £4k, quite the opposite.

Re: 2.8 Special

I've 'insured' it for £5k, so there's orobably no danger of that happening! Any idea what a reasonable valuation might be? I bought it from a garage for £4k and change, which I recognise is probably over the odds - but my mechanic brother (should read maniac brother) seemed happy it was in very good...

Thanks guys. I noticed that not long after I posted. Like I said, I'm stupid!

I was hoping you'd let me off for being a newbie!

Re: 2.8 Special

I don't know if anyone is remotely interested, but I took some more pictures to allow the insrance company to give me an agreed value. I expect they will say it's worth about £1,500 - but hey ho! http://i1305.photobucket.com/albums/s557/JackWalsh2/DSC06005_zpsca55db50.jpg http://i1305.photobucket.co...

Re: 2.8 Special

Thanks. It was the only one I saw, which is probably a bit rash, but it was so lovely I couldn't return home wihout it. My wife just sighed, then sort of grimaced, then finally smiled when she got back from work! I think it's because, despite being nearly the same age as her, it's aged a little bett...
