Well the radio fitted as standard could only receive LW/MW, which are mono, rather than 'VHF' (FM) which is stereo. Fortunately I'm a fan of Radio 4!

Don't forget that any modification, especially a serious one like a much bigger engine, will increase the cost of insurance. As others have said, good tyres properly inflated and the lack of power steering isn't an issue.

I have a 2" Sportex, fitted by a previous owner, and agree the good balance of sound without being ridiculous. Only issue I had was the rear rubber mount perishing and rubbing against the NSR tyre. Took a little jiggling into position, will be keeping an eye on. Not sure if that is a fitting is...

Just to tie this off, I eventually took the relay unit apart and cleaned up all the connections, following which it has worked fine. Any time I drive the work van it takes a little while for my brain to recalibrate. So on exiting the car park I press the brake as I would in a Capri, and end up in a heap!
