24v Cosworth Capri for Sale
It's with great sadness I'm putting my Capri up for sale. Not sure what it's worth so going to let ebay decide. Here's a link to the advert: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=161054106770 Not an easy thing to do, but we always here of people who hang onto their Capris, not usi...

Re: Capri Rally and Party weekend July 5/6/7 2013
Well, i've been hoping to sort my Capri out and bring it down to the show, but I just don't think it's going to happen. It's been sat the best part of 4 years and it's not running right, I just don't have the confidence to drive it on a 12 hour round trip.... So I've booked some flights and will be ...

Wanted: 2.8 Axle
Hi,
I'm looking for a good running 2.8 axle to replace my very noisy one. I'd need it in central Scotland so if further afield would need a seller willing to ship.
Thanks

Re: Thanks Beakster!
No worries Peter. The story behind it all is that because the forum has been running so long it's got a high ranking on Google. Spammers are trying to use this to get higher hits on their spam. I've been trying a bunch of countermeasures to stop them and although I've stopped them posting or creatin...

I thought their comment about the build quality of Sierras was pretty harsh, especially seeing as it was sat next to a couple of British Leyland cars.

Re: glowing exhaust manifolds
High exhaust gas temperature can be caused by lean mixture. I'd check the ignition timing then see what an exhaust gas analyser says about the mixture.

Re: Swapping the pinto for the 2.9
Andy's all loved up, spending time with his new burd and working a full time job. :xd: Hopefully he'll be at CRaP but as far as I know his Capri is still in bits so he'd better get his finger out. 2.9 is a good engine and easy to fit in the Capri using off the shelf parts. 12 valve makes about 160bh...

Total balls up, and an innocent man died. The good thing is, is that this is an extremely rare situation in the UK because our regular police are not armed. At the end of the day, the police are just normal people, who are regularly put in scary situations. Give them a gun and there's a very good c...

Hey,
I don't know much about this but I've heard it discussed a few times. One of the problems is that it's a FWD engine. There is apparently a Jaguar gearbox which will fit it.

Re: want an engine upgrade from my 2.8i suggestions??
Got just over a grand. And want a 200hp+ engine Pinto ;) Can you get 200bhp out of a Pinto for a grand? I'd go with the 24v 2.9. Ideally a BOA as it will be easier to wire in. You can start off cheap, by keeping the 2.8 gearbox and clutch, radiator, brakes, and upgrade these as you can afford to. I...
