Re: 2.8 injection engine re build
Interesting.. I just had a brand new alloy rad fitted. I’ve only used her a couple of times since. First time after I noticed tiny bit of coolant on the garage floor. Second time, today, I ran her up to temp, all ok. Took her for a spin, put back in garage. About 1 min after I switched her off, I he...

Re: Sill Drain Holes
It’s a great post.. Thanks for posting the exact whereabouts of these drain holes. I was shocked to see that only about 1 or 2 of mine actually were “ holes”…. As she’s probably had new sills in the past whoever welded them in had ignored them. I ended up drilling 8mm holes direct into where they sh...

Those were the types of cars I saw too , this pic is a well known one, but sadly there aren’t many out there. I only wish I was also into camera...

2.9 BOB Cosworth 24v ECU / MAF
Hi there - has anyone got, or experienced having a Capri with such heart transplant? Mines running a 1995 Scorpio Cosworth 24v 2.9. Sometimes she runs really fast at start up or just randomly whether hot or cold - 1500 or 2000 revs. A few times she’ll stall at cold Tickover. I’m thinking to start wi...

Re: High torque starter for 2.9
Appreciate the info guys..
I suppose there’s reasons there why I cannot find any…
I guess then, it may be just good to get a brand new replacement?

High torque starter for 2.9
Hi all. I was thinking of upgrading the starter on my 2.9 BOB engined special… it always seems a tad lethargic when cranking. I think maybe it’s the original. As the engine is the Scorpio Cosworth 2.9 I am after a high torque starter to fit. Can anyone recommend a good specialist? I tried the usual ...

Re: Steering Wheel
It’s an older thread, but I’m trying to see a way to actually undo the nut. If I try and undo it with a 22mm socket the wheel will just try and go round. If I try and whack it with the steering lock on, I’m afraid I’ll bust the steering lock…
How do I start!
Thanks

Have you disturbed the dizzy or taken her out and put back?
Years ago me and my (late) dad did this and couldn’t find anything until that simple thing of turning the dizzy 180 degree sorted it!

Re: Gearbox rattles above 55
Well thanks I made it to ford fair. First time in 14 years.
I couldn’t really take her over 60 without vibrating.
I saw the play up on the ramps. Suggested bearing and rubber. If I am here, I’ll look out for a refurbished complete unit or a kit and get it done…. Cheers all!

Re: I was wondering....
I’m a Sierra man too but it’s minuscule compared with others I’ve seen other makes/models. To keep to the insurance theme, I would like to share a possible reason. My wife had a Mini Cooper S conv. 2013. I traded it in for a jag F-type conv. 3.0S sc recently. When I asked the AA (insurer) to change ...
