Probably because it works out cheaper to pay £3k than get fisted by the insurance company by claiming! Just remember guys that Copperslip is an anti-seize compound and not a lubricant. I always brush it on the edges of the pad backing plates where they contact the caliper or its mount to stop the pads rusting into the sliders. Did the smart thing and covered the whole disc with it, loosened the wheel nuts as well to stop the frost setting in overnight so will slap more grease on there before tightening, will make sure I stick some on the radiator cap, brake servo cap and expansion tank to stop them getting stuck as well ...
