Re: bulkhead grommets etc
Take a Bic pen and take out the inky bit, leaving just the plastic tube. Push it through the chosen grommet, then thread the wire through it. Extract the pen from the grommet and off the wire. Job done. Got fed up with the wires just folding back on themselves and devised that idea. Might seem daft,...

1.6 Pinto available soon!
Got a 1.6 Laser that'll be broken in a week or two. The engine is lowish mileage (about 63k) but hasn't run since 2003............and now Beakster's got the loom on it's way to him I won't be able to run it that easy. Would anyone be interested in it? Thought I'd ask now, cos otherwise I'm thinking ...

Re: strut brace position
There's many different sizes and shapes, but as long as it clears the engine and any other bits in the way, then the routing of it makes no real difference. It simply serves to complete the fourth side of a square formed by the struts and the x-member, thus stopping the strut tops flexing in or out ...

Re: Poly Bush question
Just a bit concerned about your description though. Do you really mean 'where it meets the bottom ball joint' ? To me, that sounds like you mean the end where it goes up into the bottom of the leg and secured by a nut on top? If I'm wrong then fine, but if I'm right then I don't think you can get an...

And if you can't find a leak anywhere, then it'll be slowly filling the servo!
My money's on the rear cylinders leaking. They can do it for ages before anyone really notices.

Re: Anyone Local to Beakster?
Sorry I'm nowhere near close enough to help out, otherwise I'd love to (witness my previous post about club 'food'n'fix' days.)
As a small contribution though, an engine bay loom went in the post to him on Monday morning. Hope it helps?

If it's a remote adjustable one then you might find it easier to swap the whole assembly?
What colour do you need? I might have one, and if not, there's almost certainly someone else on here who will.

Not yet mate, been on leave all week. Am back at work at Marham in the morning, so will look for you then.
Must admit I neglected it cos, reading other posts, I thought you were sorted, sorry.
Let me know if you still need the other bits (bonnet stop and door check straps?)

Re: Indicators (sorted), rear light coming on with ignition...
If that doesn't cure it, check your rear light units aren't cracked around the two mounting screws. They earth through those screws. Do them up too tight, it cracks the housing and throws up some really weird and wonderful earthing faults!

Re: cam belt problem, HELP !
Might be the adjuster that's sticking? Just to confirm though............ you didn't physically tighten the adjuster against the belt did you? You should loosen it and turn the engine 2 complete turns by hand. The spring should tension the adjuster correctly, then you simply nip up the locking bolt....

Re: Just out of interest- tickford rear suspension.
I stand to be corrected, but wasn't it John Miles (ex F1 driver?) I bought a Skorpion kit from Roger Shailes way back when. He fitted it and I drove the 40 miles home from Cambridge. Was so impressed that when I got home I immediately rang him to ask how (now the back was so well tied down) that he ...

Air filter height is only restricted by the size of the hole in the bonnet, wind resistance, and the need to put navigation lights on if it's over 150ft high!
