Must be classic escort at santa pod

..judging by the number of lime green/yellow/orange escorts I've seen on the a14 today.

Re: Radio help urgent........

The small terminal in the middle is output for the leccy antenna. The bigger terminals either side of that are perm live and ignition live, but cant remember which way round. And on the far right is earth if you can see that it connects to the casing.

Re: 8x15 wheels et0

I had 15x8 et4 all round. 205/50 was fine, but 225/50 rubbed sometimes. I can't see the extra 4mm offset you're talking about being a problem with 195s.

Re: Capri alarms

I'll be adding the optional tilt sensor to my cat 1 alarm. My capri has been towed a couple of times and the alarm didn't go off. Then at least me or a neighbour is going to notice if it gets lifted. Even just to prevent expensive wheels getting nicked, not that I have any, yet.

Re: You consider yourself a professional driver....(PSV/HGV) ...

I bet someone was having fun before that happened. When I was at school, we convinced the bus driver to try make it wheel spin with about 90 kids onboard. He revved it up and hit drive. I was expecting something to break, I guess i was kinda disapointed when nothing happened and then it started pull...

Re: driving round ireland, any advice?

Sound like fun. Do it. If the car is used daily, then it wont even notice 1000miles. Wont hurt to take a toolbox though. In '08 me and Beakster did 4000miles with our capris. France, Spain, Portugal, Gibraltar, Ibiza and back in 17 days with only a couple of minor issues. Then in '09 I took my capri...

Re: TCA bushes and polyurethane VS rubber..

The polys are really easy to fit and remove because they come in 2 halves. The HD rubber are a single piece and need ramming through and i've never managed to do it without them getting mangled up. I've changed my TCA bushes way too many times. My capri was eating through them mega fast because of t...

Re: Does anyone actually like Top Gear?

I agree Tom. I used to love it but the last series or 2 have gone downhill. Its just getting tedious and seems like its become a parody of itself. Some of the features they've done this series made me wonder if id accidentely switched over to some low budget car show on sky 3. I'll still watch it th...

Re: It's back!

Dave, I had the "340truck tape" on my wing too, its kind of fashionable now. :xd: How you finding your 2.9? Is it the lame version like my granny with the cats and the 5800rpm rev limiter to protect the hydraulic tappets? I say lame but its got 5 tonnes of torque which is perfect on an aut...

Re: 1968 Crash tests

Thats upsetting to see all the american metal crumple like foil. I guess the reason is, because they have a seperate chassis instead of being monocoque, the body has no structual strength designed into it, not even to carry its own weight, and the chassis, probably better described as 2 scaffold pol...

Re: tiny bit worried about the future of classic cars

10 years? Thats only 10 salty icey winters! :xd: I think all the hardcore capri addicts who want to be driving capris in 10 years time will be. As far as classic cars go, capris are still young and there are much older classics on the roads. But whats obvious now is the number of daily driven capris...
