Re: 2.8 Capri not starting (again)

Hi Jack, You can test if the relay is at fault by swapping the purple relay with another good one, or if you don't have one, temporarily substitute with the relay from the heated rear screen. If the car runs, then you've found the problem. Don't keep the HRS relay in the fuel pump circuit permanentl...

Re: Wanted 2.8 injection

Hi, It's always worth going to see as many cars for sale as possible, even if you have no intention of buying (but don't tell the seller that!). That way, you will see a lot of good and bad points to look out for, and you will almost certainly have a better idea of "the one" when it comes ...

Hi Andy,
I can't remember the last time I saw a 309GTi. Some years ago, I would imagine.

Re: Queen Square Bristol 12/04/15

Hi Neil, That's a really good show with a good selection of Fords, I'll have to try to get along to one in the Summer when the weathers hopefully a bit more settled. It is a good show with loads of old Fords and lots of rare stuff too. You should come along one day, it's a good day out. There's phot...

Love the Video, it sounds just like mine and as good as Janspeeds :D Hi Andy, I love that tunnel! I had a better recording going the other way in the morning. Unfortunately, I can't post that because I was listening to a rather embarrassing song on the radio! I'll try again next time with the windo...

Re: Queen Square Bristol 12/04/15

I just glanced at the front end of this and thought `Oh, Fiesta`.... :) Steve, It's funny you should mention that, but I have also noticed the similarity between the shape of the grilles, and to a lesser extent headlights, on both cars. I imagine that's all they have in common though. Obviously the...

Hi,
Poor sound, unfortunately (no, I don't mean Madness!). There's a bit of noise from wind buffeting because I had the window wound down.

Re: Queen Square Bristol 12/04/15

Well worth the trip. My sons enjoyed it, we'll go again, cheers for posting. Hi Rob, I'm really pleased that you all enjoyed the meet. I was a bit concerned that you'd all be disappointed because it couldn't have lived up to all the hype in my previous posts . I needn't have worried, I think it was...

Hi,
Welcome to the forum.
Great site!
Your Capri has come a long way since the start of the resto, and I've no doubt that it will be fantastic when you've finished it. I'll keep an eye out for further updates.

All the best,
Andrew.

I hope Andrew cannot fit his four post ramp in his boot otherwise we are all doomed   Nick, You're in luck. Took my car out today and by the time I got home it was pouring with rain. Re: supposed RS 3100 on sale for 10,995 pounds

does anybody know if it's a replica? he thinks it's a 3.0 GXL Hi, I think that perhaps the seller is hoping that a potential buyer will think that it may be an RS3100. I doubt that it's genuine. Why would anyone respray a genuine RS3100 in anything other than the original colour? Clueless seller or...

It looks as though it's in decent enough condition, but it's always hard to tell exactly how much it's worth without seeing it in person.
If you need a quick sale, why not put in an Ebay auction with a reserve?

Re: 2.8i starting problems

Hi,
Have you replaced the fuel filter? It's a must if the car has been standing for a while. Is the fuel pump actually pumping adequate fuel?
Also, take the two pipes off the auxiliary air valve to check that it is open when cold.

Re: 2.8 Capri not starting (again)

Hi Jack, First things first, I would put a test light across the two wires at the pump to make sure that the electrics are live there. If the inlet at the fuel filter is dry, it sounds as though the accumulator is not holding pressure in the system. That would mean that you'll have to keep turning t...
