Re: Big hesitation.

I would be having a look at the fuel mixture, sounds like it's very much on the lean side.

Re: Timing Question - too much advance?

Sounds like a dodgy distributer to me. We have fitted these to our builds previously and they don't always run well if you set them to the book settings. We have had to sometimes set them up by ear and do several road runs to get them sorted. These distributors are sold for a variety of motors and I...

Re: Trim finish

You could try powdercoating them but the baking on of the powdercoat would concern me. Best to ask somebody who is a powdercoater.

Re: Dash question

Be just as easy to keep the grab handle Mark . I doubt if filling the holes would make for a permanent repair.

Re: Brake line colour

I've previously used a few different shades but I have now settled for Olive Green. It is a real ballache preparing and painting the brake pipes but I can't stand to see them not done.

Re: Capri 2.8i injectors

Get a bigger slide hammer, they will have to come out, Chances are you will leave the O ring and plastic sleeve in the manifold but they can be easily picked out.

Re: One of those days.

I've stopped using the "new" mountings on my builds. The originals are much better. I have some if you need them.

Re: Brake Master

The larger bore ones haven't been available from my usual outlets for some time now. Past Parts can properly refurbish the original ones, far better than simply sticking in a set of seals.

Re: Brake Master

It looks like a ATE one for a 2.8i. They aren't available new, you'll have to have yours refurbished.

Re: What clutch is this ?

If it's a 23 spline friction plate and a smaller cover plate then I can get them.

Re: What clutch is this ?

So you're looking for a 23 spline friction plate but smaller cover plate than the standard 2 litre clutch? shouldn't be that difficult, most retailers go by parts books that have been wrong for years.

Re: Capri Club Magazine Late?

:D How long have you had that for Andrew, is it a recent purchase? Yes, at the renewal the year before last, I think. I've still got some time to go before I break even! Andrew. I must admit, I've thought about it a few times, and in hindsight (which is a terrible thing!) I wish I had done, as I'd ...

Re: Tailgate Struts

If you fit struts that are too strong then there's every chance that you will rip off the mountings on the sides of the tailgate, I've seen it!

Re: Good old days.

Absolutely the good old days. Stoneleigh was a brilliant venue. The car park was every bit as good as the show itself. We didn't realise then just how good the scene was. Fast forward 30 odd years to what we have now - depressing.

Re cores are not that much cheaper than a new Rad. Try Richard at Boston Motorcool, top guy and fair price.
