Re: failed test after rebuild co emissions

What I bet you have there is one bank with a slow or duff injector and another bank thats ok, so to get the car to run right they`ve turned the mixture up and its made it run better at the cost of emmisions, its fairly easy to fix if you have a gas analyser! If you havent you`ll be farting around fo...

Re: rev counter quiestion v8 helpp plz

I forget the details now, I think it was 2005 when I did my V8 cappa, you can get tacho`s with a potentiometer built in, you can use this as a dial to get the tacho to read good, you will also need to know what your engine is idling at in the first place, I used a snap on timing light for that bit.....

Re: just a good word

Biggest mistake I made was having a type9 5pd on the V8!! Fking useless for traffic light racing, to get first I always had to push it where 1st should be, then lift the clutch it it bit, then got it in gear! The next pinto`d cappa I do will have a 4spd for certain :!:

Re: just a rant

Today i stood and watched two blokes in their late twentys fannying around changing a flat tyre. I watched till i couldnt take anymore. ...

Wouldn't cause it to be hard to get into 1st :kebab:
It could do if the engine is running at the time, I`d be more inclinde to agree with terra adjust the clutch biting point first, if thats fine then probs the clutch is duff.

Im of the opinion that if a car is modded properly and looks better when completed then do it! I do like the look of that motor too. Regarding the Police cars, d433 was based at park lane police station in higher broughton Salford, HOW do I know this?! firstly I`m a sad muppet and remember the reg p...

Re: worried about driving the capri

Sounds familier! couple of years ago I stuck a v8 in mine, it made the 1 mile trip to the MOT station and back, then made the 13 mile trip to my house, then one night after work I though I`d take it for a mooch (5meters), it didnt even manage to get off the drive! 1 week later and a new fuel pump fi...

Re: What carb. should I use?

That`ll be a solex carb, they did them with 38mm chokes and 34mm for the 2.8 or 2.3 engine. They are actually fairly reliable, I swapped mine to a webber 38 because I wanted a water fed thermostat rather than that electric one. The carb was jetted for a 3L essex and it ran fine but a bit crap top en...

1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8....thats the firing order on my pinto! I have a twin exhaust on my car and it sounds just the same as a V8 so I`m guessing thats what I have.
