Re: That late evening/ night drive
I found the end of the road cordoned off this evening and looking at the news an 11 year old has been arrested for attempted murder...yes...11 year old... Tom is this Fairbridge Road Holloway mate ? Heard a 14yr lad ran out of his home to help his Dad who was confronting some lads over an incident ...

Re: That late evening/ night drive
Great pics Jason,I have to agree the late evening is definitely the best time to go out. I don't like the heat one bit when its like this, becomes incredibly difficult though at least you can benefit from a window wound down if moving! The trouble I have is that where I am in London, it's about 30 m...

Re: Classic or Relic ?
I was filling up at the petrol station last year and overheard a father pointing it out to his son (10ish years old).
"See that, son? I used to have one of them 15 years ago. Biggest mistake I made, selling it"
"But dad, why did you sell it?"
"I met your mother!"

Re: The Ace Cafe Capri Day 2018
Hopefully it is worth braving the North Circular for! I know what you mean Tom. I hate the N. Circ too except when it leads me to The Ace !!! Hope to see you if you can make it fella :) I've got the day off work so have sent off to book in, hopefully there's still spaces available. If there's a mee...

Re: Undersealing
One of the things about the canned waxoyl is you still have to apply it in appropriate conditions etc. If it is warm it will be vastly easier to apply than if cold. I take a bucket of hot water out when I do it, or leave the waxoyl cans in the sun for a little while first! I have an old bit of carpe...

Re: mot today
Hurrah! Lucky no rain today!
Nick I believe that the MoT "certificate" we get now has in itself no legal standing. The thing that matters is the record on the DVLC central computer, the printout merely being a confirmation of that.

Re: No MOT.....
I personally don't want to drive anywhere in a death trap :!: Whether a car is exempt from an MOT or not, it still has to be in roadworthy condition. That won't change under the new legislation. Perhaps we will see insurance companies using assessors in the event of a claim to ensure that MOT exemp...

Re: Car feels weird lol
This story of cars being the last on the production line getting all sorts of crap fitted to them is a myth! I'm glad you posted that , it's good to know :) I've said something similar on another thread. If Ford changed manufacturing parts then I believe it was for a reason, such as R & D, and ...

Re: Exhaust recommendations
I have a Sportex system on my 1.6; it's ok on most speed bumps but will scrape if there's anything in the boot. There's a particular set of speed bumps in Watford that always cause an awful scraping noise mind. I did have some problems last year as a rubber mount has deteriorated and as theres not ...

Re: Road Tax Price
As many have said in the past maybe scrap road tax and put the price onto petrol, so the more you drive the more you pay and everyone pays..... Makes sense to me. Andrew. I agree. Same for things like the emissions charges, c charge etc where I think everyone should have a quota of days they can dr...

Re: Handbrake Switch
Thanks for the reply. You were correct with the wire colour and how many. I checked the lamp and that was fine but on further inspection I found the tabs to connect the instrument cluster to the lamp were squashed and not completing the circuit. Tested both handbrake and brake reservoir and all is ...

Re: Yearly mileage.....
couldn't imagine pressure washing it for example. No, I never use a pressure washer on the Capri. I use a dry cloth and regular car cleaning products for cleaning the suspension, crossmember, axle and those sorts of things. Andrew. I have to admit that I have done - mainly to remove any crud from t...

They've been good to deal with and very efficient. I've got recovery arranged through them which puts the price up a bit, but worth it for peace of mind?
