Re: state of the roads

Hi,
Oh dear, if that drops away much more your Capri won't be able to negotiate that stretch
Is that the only way out of your street?

Re: South west Capri club

Hi, Just a thought, you could check through this thread to see if anyone is local to you. You could always PM them through here and ask if they are interested in a meet. Maybe even get enough interest to start your own club. 8-) http://www.fordcapriforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=31745 Andr...

Re: question about leaf springs

Beat me to it Terra.....was gonna suggest he check if broken/shagged front coil as that would cause it down/up at one side at the back :agree: Hi, Just for clarity, if a front spring is broken/shagged, will the back sit lower on the same side or the opposite side to the offending front spring? Re: What's this?

Hi, What year was the photo taken? I would guess early 1990s. There were a lot of Midas cars around then, judging by the photo! I was also going to say that the Javelin is a 'marmite' car, although I doubt there is anyone who loves the styling. As you say, the roof arrangement looks like a right mes...

Hi,
Great photo, definitely looks like a kit car show. 8-)
The blue car is a JBA javelin.

Hi,
Wait until the wrap is done, then send it off. I'm pretty sure there's no fee to pay.

Re: Bank Holiday Weekend!

It`s a shame, but where can you go on a Bank Holiday weekend where you`re not stuck in queue after queue. Hi, This is true, and the Easter weekend seems to be the worst day of the year for traffic, especially the motorways. I will be spending most of the weekend doing a few jobs on the car. All the...

Re: didnt quite work out

That was my next question, shall I tell the dvla the colour and the insurance company? . Hi, Yes, you have to tell the DVLA of a colour change. You would still have to tell them even if you don't have the vinyl wrap as the car is a different colour than stated on the V5. I doubt that your insurance...

Re: didnt quite work out

Maybe in time but right now I want to make it look how I want it to. Anymore serious mechanical work can come later when I have more cash. Hi, That's fair enough, as long as the car is safe and legal, you can tackle the jobs as and when you have spare cash. Pretty soon you will have the car you wan...

Re: Number Plates ? where you get yours?

That clears that up, thanks. As you say, who's to know how long the plates have been on the car?
I do like the look of the metal plates and they are correct for the age of my car. 8-)

Re: Number Plates ? where you get yours?

Hi,
Stupid question I know, but are the metal plates road legal for cars made in the 1980s, or are they for show use only?

Re: didnt quite work out

Hi,
At least with the vinyl wrap the guy can do you a computer generated image to look at beforehand so you can actually see what it's going to look like.

Then the second one I openened a Capri workshop in Peru or somewhere on the outskirts of a shanty town and then bought a nuclear reactor and a turbo generator to power it, telling my employees that it would "pay for itself in no time.. we can sell the surplus power (of which there was about 90...

Re: didnt quite work out

Capris are one of the few cars that look better the more you take off. Hi, I know there are a lot of people on here who appreciate the clean lines of the Capri rear end without a spoiler, but I'm going to stick my neck out and say that the back of the Capri looks as though there's something missing...

Re: didnt quite work out

Hi, Well, you gave it a go and unfortunately the finished look wasn't as you had anticipated. No problem there, it's a case of trial and error to find out what you like and what you don't like. I hope you don't find you've made the same mistake after you've spent £800 on a vinyl wrap. ;) All the bes...
