Even your trolley Jack parks on the carpet . Glad you enjoyed the (20 metre) drive, Capri looks right at home in there.

Re: Capri prices
You don't see many good 2.8 under 15k now! :o For Sale, Grey 2.8i .. :) Pretty surprised by this as I don't look at prices, just happy to own one. Everyone knows a car is only worth what someone is willing to pay but a quick look on car and classic at escort prices shows RS2000s in decent condition...

Sorry to hear of your loss. It’s great that your dad got to see the car over Easter.
It’s looking really good, with you on the 4 spokes, they really suit the S & Laser Capris.

Cheers, I agree about the engines too. My sons brother in law has a Mk2 escort with red top. Doesn’t do it for me either.ESSEXV6ESSEX wrote: ↑Tue May 05, 2020 9:25 pm Its great to see these old mags. One thing I dislike though more then a Rover V8 in a Capri is a Red Top XE in an Escort. Once a Ford always a Ford.

That repair looks excellent Andrew. They Have used Devcon liquid metal in the airline Industry. I know it’s a different make but principle is the same. If it’s good enough for that your repair should hold ok. Good luck.

Stu, that's a lot of work you've undertaken in the last 13 years. Good to see an update on where you're at. If I was you, as the car is as stripped as it is, I'd get it sprayed now if you can. I just think if you jump the gun & build it back up for an mot after all this time you may lose the dri...

Think the RGA is the best looking after market spoiler out there. Well designed & suits the car very well. Looks good on yours with that grille & angel eyes.

It's a job I need to do, got the dye just got to remove wheel & sort it. Busy repainting rooms in house at moment. I mixed the dye to a mid grey colour on gear knob but steering wheel looked dark grey originally so may mix darker for that. John I did use sealer on gear knob & it hasn't rubbe...

Thanks for checking Andrew. That first car, although not my thing, took an awful lot of work to create and then looks like it was scrapped just 6 years later. It’s good to see the press car is still around, hopefully the Mk3 too.

General Grabber tyres, the opposite of low profile in any sense. I had a set on my first car a Vauxhall Firenza in the early 80's, Remember spending ages with a small brush re whitening the letters. General Grabbers, they were the tyres of choice then, usually wrapped around Wolfrace slot alloy whe...
