Re: Queen Square, Bristol 12/10/2014
Car is slowly being stripped down, it's going in for the cutting out & welding in of new metalwork on first week of November. Think we're almost there with parts collecting. Looking forward to getting bodywork prepped ready for paint, hoping not to break any trim ..
Cheers, Rob.

Love this car, what I like about this youtube clip is that orange paint is so bright it makes everything around it look like it was filmed in black & white..andyd wrote:

Re: Capri Uren Stampede for sale
This very Uren Stampede sold this year on 7/6/14 at Bonhams auction for £16,387!! Didn't realise that capris had more than doubled in value in the last 4 months, if I had any shares in gold I'd sell them right now & invest in capris ..

Re: Mk1 Facelift 2000GT longterm project (eventually)
with it's current stance it looks a lot like a sports tractor  To be honest I quite like your JCB GT ;) Had a 1600 XL as my first capri, bought off a friend after a minor bump. I replaced the damaged passenger wing & door & junked the twisted bumper. With it's badly rattle canned wing ...

Re: Mk1 Facelift 2000GT longterm project (eventually)
Stick with it, a 2000 gt must be a pretty rare car. I've seen a few yellow mk1s at shows this year & they always grab your attention. It's good that you've been collecting spares along the way, that way even if you haven't had the time to spend on it your interest hasn't waned. Good luck.

Re: First Capri - Updated. End of work is nigh
Mike,
From what you can see in the pictures it looks like you've got a good body / paint man to do the work. The shut lines look spot on & the crease line along the side looks perfect. Can't be far off completing the bodywork now, stripes & bits of trim & it will look good as new. Top job.

Re: 2.8i Special seat refurb
Thanks both, it was definitely worth the wait. Really, this should be one of the last jobs but they looked so bad they were spoiling my enjoyment of the car which is what it's all about. Bodywork next on to do list over the winter, looking forward to the paintwork looking as good as the seats ;) Che...

Re: Capri laser 1.6 1986 daily
Good looking car, like the upgrades you've done too, especially the interior, ford should have done the Laser justice by fitting a better interior from new as it seems to be the first upgrade anyone does to these models. Bodywork looks to be in really good shape too.

Good looking Laser you've got there, like the colour too. Have fun restoring it. If it were mine I'd keep the Laser stripes as they're a good looking car as your first pic shows, if you're looking for inspiration just check out fordaholic nick's car on how to do it right.

Re: Footman James Show, Manchester
Cheers Mike for posting, grey 2.8 does look good as does that mk2 2.0S, I've seen quite a few capris at shows this year but not seen a mk2 yet. I'm a big fan of the 'S' capris in mk2 or 3 guise, the space grey S look 2.8 looks stunning with those polished wheels too. How's your car coming along, loo...

Wow, what a transformation! Just looked at your build up pics, that took a lot of work but the results look great. The new wheels suit the colour change perfectly, a real stunner & solid to boot, wouldn't mind that myself.

Fair play Andrew you get about, where do you find out about all these shows ? Plenty of capris on show, the black mk2 2.0s looked stunning, never seen one of these in a show. Love the orange mk3 cortina as well. The brooklands show next week looks to be fantastic, wish we could attend in ours but it...

Re: The Ultimate Fuel Gauge Sender Fix / Resto!
That's excellent. Had the same problem with ours, but we cheated & unwound one full turn where we could see a break & soldered it back together. Gauge works fine until the last 1/4 tank where the reading drops quickly. Yours is a much better solution & will last years. Top marks for havi...

Hi Andrew,
Just saw these pictures. What a great day out, recognised some of those cars from the recent Pembrey vintage show. That 100 mile cruise must have been great fun, must have made the day. Thanks for uploading.
Cheers,
Rob.
