Re: Facebook

Good on you. I left Facebook 2 years ago and deleted my account. It is pretty scandalous with regards to privacy and what or who it shares data with. Read the T&cs carefully. It’s mindblowing how much info it believes it is entitled to demand from you. The fact that zuckerberg feels he does not ...

Over £200 per person per night? It's amazing that they can make a profit at that rate........ :) :sarcasmalert:

Re: The Capri failed the MOT today

I’m going to buck the trend here.

Why the master cylinder over the wheel cylinders?
There’s a lot of poorly made aftermarket examples out there.

If it is the master cylinder based on what you’ve described I’d expect the inside of the servo to be wet with brake fluid.

Re: Blue plastic lenses in dashboard pod removal

Only way to do this is to take the clocks out.

The plastic will melt over time at 5watts.
The clocks aren’t that bad to take out. Just take your time and handle carefully.

As long as the width of the belt is on the tensioner it is fine.

Re: Door Striker Plate

The “cage” you refer to is spot welded on all sides so the threaded plate can’t come out.

Re: NOS Rear Bumper on ebay !!

I love the description where he’s put “ I think they are rare...” etc.

You think or you know??

I threw a brand new entire set of these out once. They mark your carpet something rotten!
Still, whoever buys them will be the mug here. Good luck to the seller.

Re: Brake problems not going away

Often the pivoted part of the adjuster which has the serrated edge on it is rusted solid which doesn’t help anything. I find placing them in a vice and soaking in wd40 whilst wiggling the join with pliers helps no ends in getting accurate adjustment when fitted.

Re: Vapor Lock how to stop ?

Have a check the carb is plumbed up the right way round.

I had this problem years ago and it was simply that the feed from the fuel pump was mistakenly fed to the return outlet rather than the input side of the carb.

Tracing and swapping the hoses over cured everything instantly.

Re: Springs moving in seats - hose trick

Hi Yes they did. There are best described as a cock sock of plastic (!) about 2-3” long. The plastic thickness is about 2mm. Pretty primitive. It’s quite tough stuff though. I suspect heatshrink (good idea) might be damaged quickly as it’s not dense enough. However something along those lines ...
