Re: Simply Ford 2019

Ok Update guys! So I need to get the labels from Beaulieu (by tonight I hope!), and meeting points are very simple, depending on what is easiest; 6:15 @ Fleet services on the M3, to leave 6:30am, then onto Rownhams services for 7:15, leave there & get really early in the queue. Any questions or ...

Re: 50 Years of the Capri - Historic Brooklands Circuit & Museum - 8th September 2019

149 Days to go! So let's get some more exciting news out! So Steve has now confirmed that the very last 280, and will also be happy to sign any copies of his book. Surrey Capri Club is proud to have Steve on board, and hope to arrange more exciting stuff on the day. Now, Steve's plugging his current...

Re: 50 Years of the Capri - Historic Brooklands Circuit & Museum - 8th September 2019

Under 5 months to go :D Admission prices https://www.brooklandsmuseum.com/whats-on/50th-anniversary-of-the-ford-capri Is this what we have to pay to take our cars in for the day or is there a different fee, and assume we pay on the day? Maybe a forum attendance list would be good, so that meeting t...

Re: Ace cafe 3rd August 2019

No a big thank you to all at the Surrey Capri club as it was a great meet up last year at the Ace . Looks like we are all meeting up at South Mins again  Parking up with Steve’s Johns and Nicks paintwork will make my look like a rat rod Capri  No problems, Brooklands will be so much bett...

Re: Ace cafe 3rd August 2019

Yes, it is back on again, but me & Calvin do see things differently on this. As far as we're concerned it's low key this year, no stickers or anything, simply because we have Brooklands to look after. It's more what Calvin wanted to do this year, and he know my thoughts on it too. We are far too...

Re: Professionals Capri stunts

Wish there was an opportunity to find an ropey Capri needing resto especially the bonnet, then getting some action shots of jumping over. No need to worry about polishing it and worrying if it was getting scratched.

Also, has anybody seen the Comic Strip spoof The Bull****ters?

Professionals Capri stunts

Random question for a Friday - who has wanted - or actually done - any stunts with their Capri to mimic the Professionals, like caning it round a corner, handbrake turns, or even jumping over the bonnet? I know I have always wanted to jump over the bonnet, and caning round corners or handbrake turns...

Re: Pinto Without Viscous Fan?

You got me needing to check at some point, I thought mine always had a viscous coupling because I can stop my fan with my hand when the engine is running, but I have an older Pinto . My water pump has been changed during my engine rebuild so maybe they got a late Pinto one.

Re: Walton Bridge Breakfast Meet 24/2/2019

Great pics as always! To fill in some gaps, Winnie owns the Mk1 Granada (he used to have Capris, and is now in a wheelchair following an accident. Lovely bloke, recognisable but longish curly hair), and Andy owns the Escort cab. I was at another meet more local to me (White Lion) and despite everyth...

I was looking into ice cream van but not sure if it will be ok as Brooklands already sell ice cream lollies like Magnum in the café. But looking forward to sampling home made cakes please!

If you're only 5 miles down the road, a push there will suffice, or trailer in! As long as it's there, you're part of the day!

Re: Fraudsters at it again.

One of the Capri guys on facebook called ebay 8 times to get the ads removed, and they have. The problem is being worldwide ebay cannot really keep up with these scam ads, and if you entered in keywords to the algorithm that would block it you could also prevent thousands of genuine sellers who are ...

Course the weather will be great! But the main thing is the tarmac area is secured. Did anybody see that they made an official announcement on their site about that? Ignore the fact that it says SCC will be supplying the cars, it goes to show that are acknowledging it!

218 Capris at the 45th to be precise, with over 1000 visitors. We are aiming for over 250 & I'm really wanting over 300. For those familiar to the layout the new Finishing Straight area is mostly where the Capris will go, right up to the bottom of the banking area How & where we put everyone...

Re: Next Year will be the 50th Anything Happening?

Better still if you come off the A3 towards Brooklands & go beyond the roundabout that leads to the Members Hill, the next roundabout takes you to Tesco, which will be the better meeting point. There is a possibility of doing something there convoy wise, so we might need a volunteer to wait ther...

Currently in the process of doing mine. I've gone for the rice & water method as I have no baby bottle brushes to hand. Seems to be doing a good job so far.
