Re: Queen Square, Bristol March 2016
Great to see queens square full of cars again, I am planning on coming to the April one along with Neil so hope weather is as good as you had for this one. I'm planning on coming to the April meet too. I live in Bristol so won't be convoying with the rest of you but would be great to meet a few peo...

Re: Queen Square, Bristol March 2016
and am ashamed to say this was the first time I'd managed to get down to Queens Square to check it out. Hi, You're right to be ashamed....... Did you enjoy the meet? Andrew. <hangs head> I'll be honest I had mixed feelings about the meet. There were some lovely cars there and I really enjoyed...

Re: Queen Square, Bristol March 2016
or have a meet up with some other Forum members then too? Anyone up for it? I'd be up for it. I actually live in Bristol and am ashamed to say this was the first time I'd managed to get down to Queens Square to check it out. It was a bit of a last minute thing, otherwise I would have tried to see w...

Re: Capri V10
Looking good! As you say, you wouldn't know that wasn't how it left the factory, great job. If you're going to create moulds from the whole shell and replace it all with carbon, I would imagine it'll come in a lot less than 1000KG, the original MK3 wasn't much more than that including the big cast i...

Re: Trailer tests
I went through the exact same thing a little while ago. I wanted to take my track car off the road meaning I could make some more extreme mods without worrying about MOT / TAX / Insurance issues. In the end I got so confused by what I could / couldn't tow on my licence (I passed in '98) I just gave ...

Re: steering coupler
I looked into this too but decided against it in the end. The Group 4 setup with a pair of UJ's instead of the rubber bushing has a VERY harsh feel when driving and you'll get a lot of vibration up through to the steering wheel. I guess it depends what you plan to use the car for. I forked out for t...

Re: Annoyingly coming to the realisation
Before you sell, I'd be interested to know why you're letting it go a) you need the cash out of it for other things b) because you won't have anywhere to store / work on it. If a) do whatever you can to maximise the value in it, getting the wing done and a MOT will make a big difference If b) you mi...

Re: Capri V10
Whichever it ends up on (age related or new plate) the IVA will def. be worth it. To put all that effort in to then have the v5 revoked just isn't worth the risk. The IVA rules are pretty well documented and I doubt you'll have any issues satisfying them. Would be awesome to see a 2016 plate Capri :)

Fantastic work and great to see the progress so far. I spotted your thread on Pistonheads a while ago and posted a link on here to it as I knew there would a bunch on interest. Looking forward to following the project which is both inspired and insane in equal measures! Have you now settled on stick...

Well, that escalated quickly. After such a clear and convincing argument, I don't think there's much more I can say.
The only thing I will add is to the OP, Liam, I hope you get a result which you feel is satisfactory and you are able to get your Capri repaired soon.

Re: This recent talk of clowns on the road. Had my own encounter today. Clown was in a lorry.
If everyone could have a little more consideration for other road users regardless of what they drive then it would be a lot more pleasurable for everyone. Hi, I agree with that. However, it will never happen, sadly. Andrew. True I'm sure, but if we all try we might be able to make it a little bett...

Re: This recent talk of clowns on the road. Had my own encounter today. Clown was in a lorry.
I'll bite back. Your attitude is absolutely typical of ignorant car drivers who don't bother to consider what it takes to drive a large vehicle. I don't have a chip on my shoulder, but if I did it would be because I spend every working day watching car driver after car driver fuck up on the road be...

Re: This recent talk of clowns on the road. Had my own encounter today. Clown was in a lorry.
I'm sure I'll get a lot of shit about this, but I don't care so...... Ok, I'll bite. When when when will car drivers learn to keep out of our way? Where in the highway code or anywhere else does it say the best place to overtake an artic is at a road junction, approaching a road junction or driving...

Re: This recent talk of clowns on the road. Had my own encounter today. Clown was in a lorry.
You should call your insurance company regardless of whether you ultimately put in a claim to declare that you have been involved in an accident that you don't believe to be your fault. It will put you in a much better position if it does end up going through and they have to fight for you. The best...

That M5 engine sounds pretty awesome. Personally I don't think anything beats the rumble of a big V8 but with the right exhaust it will sound great.

Re: 550BHP V10 Capri Project
Yeah, it's an impressive undertaking for sure. From the sounds of his other projects he sounds like he's got the skills to do it right. The current challenge seems to be to work out exactly how much he can get away with before it needs to be IVA'd and end up on a Q plate.

550BHP V10 Capri Project
Not mine but found this on Piston Heads. Project is still in the early stages but has the potential to be epic!
