My first Capri

Hi all, Have been a member on here for a few weeks knowing I was getting a Capri so wanted to get into the scene. So, on Sunday with the help of a friend with a Land Rover and a trailer, we headed up to North Wales to collect my new motor and she's a beauty! 4.1 V8 in Ford USA's Twilight metallic bl...

215 40 R16 should do it, worth checking out this tyre size calculator. It allows you to put in the old and new wheel and tyre sizes and see what difference it will make to the speedo reading.

Re: anybody in the portsmouth/hampshire area

Would love to help out as I'm only down the road in West End, Southampton, but I'm away this weekend. Give me a shout if it's still a problem on Monday and I'll happily lend a hand.

Re: restoring a 1.6 laser

This comes with a whole bunch of depends. First and foremost, how much of the work are you going to do yourself? You'll save yourself a load if you do as much as you can yourself. A new front wing will set you back about £80 or if you're prepared to scour the scrap yards / get one from ebay and clea...

I'd be interested in one of these, either without the badge or with the Mk1 Capri badge instead of the oval ford one

Where are you based, I have a set of the screw / bolt extractor tools that you may be able to use to remove it.

Re: common sense wins at last

Insurance is one of those mine fields that is always going to stir debate. The insurers are running a business (a very lucrative one at that) and they have to balance the risk of each policy against what they anticipate having to payout. Unfortunately this rarely takes into consideration the individ...

Re: common sense wins at last

i've just seen on the TV that gender based car insurance will be illegal from december 2012. it's a fantastic day for common sense!! You'd think, but I can help but worry that the insurers will simply bump up the cost of insurance for our lady drivers rather than dropping it for us gents. Maybe I'm...

Welcome aboard D to the laser site. Looking forward to some pics of your new motor when you get one. :ford: Looks like it's not going to be till late April till I'm going to be able to pick it up as my weekends are rammed, but as soon as it's safely back in Southampton I'll be sure to post some pics.

Morning all, new member here

Hi Guys, just thought I'd say a quick hello as I've just joined the forum.

I've not yet picked up my Capri, it's currently in N. Wales at my uncles place but I can't wait to start getting my hands dirty restoring it.

Cheers
