Re: Reverse Light Plug

’m starting to think that the bottom of the switch is stuck inside the plug/ connector. You`re absolutely right! When I pulled my `plug` off the switch I couldn`t work out how it went back. It was as yiu suspect, the top plastic section of the switch (which is only held by the metal being crimped) ...

The car in front is a Toyota

Another in my occasional series `Bert`s MOT`d deathtraps`. (You may remember the wheel bearing with no balls left?) This is the front wishbone off a Corolla, with a valid MOT : only came into his garage as someone had nicked the catalyst. It does make you wonder. https://i.postimg.cc/HsQnrsMq/DSC032...

Re: ESRT32 Radio Repair

Paul,
Had a bit of a setback last week, Punto`s head gasket failed (dramatically, without warning) so no show. Actually had to go shopping in Capri while parts were on order!!! I believe my P.A. has been in contact?

Re: ESRT32 Radio Repair

A standard conversion on a customer supplied radio is less than £500 though. I think that's a reasonable price to pay. Besides, EightyFive has asked the forum for solutions to fix their their issue and I've responded to that request. D366Y wrote: ↑ Fri Sep 24, 2021 3:58 pm Obviously Andrew earns to...

Re: ESRT32 Radio Repair

I was just thinking it may be either a fault in the FM decoder (does it have FM???) OR it could be a tape head fault: if either worked it would discount the output amp.. It`s quite possible the affected channel has been shorted out at some time which has destroyed the output chip. Or it could just b...

Re: Leaded fuel

Years ago there was a company which would sell you TEL to add to your petrol yourself: rather a lot of H&S info IIRC. This seems to have disappeared now, the only manufacturer in the world is apparently this company and they will only supply refiners. I thought some planes still needed to use le...

Re: Replacing Type-F 4 speed Transmission, 2.0 Capri

Hamish, he did say 2.0 Mercury Capri, which was an import from Europe with the 1993cc Pinto. It all gets a bit confusing as the `Pinto` car used the (Brazilian?) 2.3 Pinto engine, which was different to the Euro one. As for nose lengths etc, no idea.

Re: Replacing Type-F 4 speed Transmission, 2.0 Capri

I`m pretty certain the bellhousing etc for a 2.0 PINTO is the same as a 1.6. Only the Cologne V6s (the Germans I think used a V6 2.0,as well as 2.3 - but only in Germany AFAIK.) may have had different pattern? Ford did like interchangeability., What do you think caused the gear to break up like that...
