Re: 1981 capri 3.0s 4 speed mot failure for sale

I was going to consider a Capri 280, but the prices seem to have went through the roof and i'm not sure they are in fact any better than the 2.8 Injection specials, but happy to stand corrected Hi, No, your dead right, Doug. It's a big premium to pay for leather seats and green paint. In saying tha...

Re: clay bars - halfords new offer update

Hi,
How long can clay bars be used/kept for? Do they have to be replaced each time the car is, er, clayed ? I wouldn't think for a minute that they last indefinitely.

Re: Capri In Practical Performance Car Magazine

Looks like it has an article on Bosch K-jet also. I won't get much work done that day, when it turns up   Neil, Ian Coulson, the technical expert from CCI, has written a useful troubleshooting and maintenance guide for the K-jetronic. Excellent for reference. http://www.zeepoort.nl/jetron...

Hi,
Pity we heard of the feature too late to read it in the local library. By which I mean read the interesting stuff for free in the newsagents!

Re: Dashboard switches

My problem is I`m absolutely obsessed with noises; rattles creaks, vibrations - they do my head in! I`m always afraid if I take the dash panels off, when I put it back there`ll be something that`s moved and is now touching something else and causing an untraceable `tap...tap..tap.... And ^THAT is w...

Re: Radio repairs

Dave,
Thanks for the update and the recommendation. I might see about having the ipod lead fitted myself, once I've managed to find a spare tadio at a reasonable price.
Glad yours is sorted out now.

Hi,
That's how I do it. It's a shame previous owners weren't so careful.

Re: clay bars - halfords new offer update

Hi,
I decided to give the clay bar another go, and this time I took my time over it. You really can feel the difference on the paintwork. It's definitely worth being patient.

Re: Capri 1.6LS on Ebay

The seller has pulled the plug on the 280 auction. I wonder how long it will be before it reappears somewhere else for sale?

Hi,
Good advice from turbo-mike there. However, how do you know that the ones you're buying don't suffer from the same problem? Unless you buy from a trusted seller like Martin, of course.

Re: Ronan's 2.8 Special

Hi,
Good advice from Mike there. Personally, I do use an additive but plenty of owners don't and manage just fine.
I will point out that Miller's VSPE additive also protects against the effects of ethanol in petrol, which could be considered a greater risk to the wellbeing of your car.

It really is a useful manual, much more in-depth than Haynes. The info will give you the opportunity to overhaul the whole steering rack, if you wish.
