It may be the right kit and Bigg Red is a well known brake expert company - i got my seals from there. Ford used several makes of master cylinder over the years and you will find the make stamped on the side of the casing;- mine was a Girling but they could be ATE or Lucas. Have you got the right throttle cable on it?

Be careful bending the pedal, I put my foot under a capri one once to try and lift it up to slow a fast tickover and the pedal rod snapped.

Have you tried wiggling the bulb about in the bulb holder to see if it flashes?

All I can suggest now is lay on the floor and get someone else to turn the steering side to side and see if you can see anything moving. The only other thing is to perhaps try a 2.8 or late Laser 24mm roll bar.
