Spotted - Capris in St Helens
In the past week I have spotted a burgundy mk3, a white 1.6 laser, a white 2.0s, and a mineral blue laser, all in St Helens. Any owners on here?

My 2.0 X pack
After a year or so off the road the X pack has been treated to a reconditioned engine, new clutch and all new brakes and steering. All seems well, I have done about 200 miles in it over the last couple of days and it seems happy to be back on the road. http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m295/SpikeCa...

Re: Starting Issues
Tested the alternator today, battery reads 13.18v when off, and 14.54 with the car running, although revving the engine over 2000 rpm made no difference, 14.54v constantly.

Re: Headlight Help
could it be that the connector the wires go into just before the bulbs needs a clean/wires pushing back into it a little. I had the same problem a week ago and that was the cause for mine.

Re: Starting Issues
Update: I put the battery on charge this morning and it took 15 mins to fully charge. Took the starter off and with a wire brush, cleaned around where the starter mates to the engine, all the starter bolts and the earth connections and bolts, tightened everything up and started first time every time...

Starting Issues
The car lives (pics to follow soon), but it seems to have a problem starting at times, sometimes it will start fine and others it will just do nothing when I turn the key (dash lights on and only a single click when starting). Is this a starter issue? I seem to have gone through a few starters with ...

Re: 32/36 carb Brass Nut
I have put a post in the parts section asking for a top. It is bloody annoying now as this is the last hurdle. Car starts, stops, drives and works, just the torrent of petrol going everywhere from the fuel filter housingmebob.

Re: 32/36 carb Brass Nut
Got some PTFE tape on the nut today and screwed it back into the carb, tried it and fuel was still pissing everywhere. Had a look into the carb thread using a mirror and seen that a thread had collapsed. I ended up getting the leak to a minimum by using PTFE tape but taking the washer off the brass ...

Found the clip today, it ended up in the passenger footwell. At least I think it is the right clip, it seems to work anyway.

32/36 carb Brass Nut
Fuel keeps leaking from the brass nut at the front of the carb, I can't tighten the nut anymore as I don't want to damage it. Am I in need of a new one ?
