You think hitting a deer with a car can be nasty...
My mate hit a deer with a plane today... Doing his commercials licence at Bournemouth airfield and hit a doe with his twin prop on landing. Scared him half to death apparently and trashed a blade- plane twisted about 45 degrees just after it touched down. Very nearly very nasty. Who wants to see a p...

Pulling off a quiet moorland road onto a quieter one in the rain...
My mate: "I thought you said this thing was a handful in the wet?"
Me: locks it and floors it.
My mate: "Uuuuh... huh... huuuuuh.... I feel sick."

'only' £199? .me's are £15 and not exactly a desirable TLD... Especially if as, at the moment, it's hosting a generic search page and has not been updated since July '08.
I won't name a realistic price, get what you can, what do I know?

Re: Engine stalling at idle
Yup, my money is on an air leak! Exactly what mine was doing, but I'm running a 24v so not much useful advice I can give. If it helps it was a blown plenum gasket on mine, allowing unmetered air into the system.

Less K&N and more M&S, I've now done 250 miles with a sock jubilee clipped in place instead of an air filter.

1600 axle worth exactly the same as the 2.0 one.
Attached to my 24v it really does shift! Also runs out of gears pretty quickly though heh.

"The buy now pay later (in every sense) culture got us here. Except we can't pay." Talking government, I still fail to see where all that money went on. Public services which became less efficient? PCSOs on the street who can't actually arrest anyone but look good on the sheet. Traffic wom...

Sparky is alive!
He's been driven to London town, behaving perfectly all the way apart from the dash backlight dying. The car in front of me got hit by a bendybus and the one behind me clipped a bollard (no joke!) but we made it through unscathed. Loving the Cossie, feels just like an Essex but the surge of power ke...

Re: 8v VS 16v engines and CR effects
My (limited) understanding is... With an 8v engine you get a choice of either high bottom end torque or high revs (= high bhp), because you only have one set of valves which can be matched to one or the other. You can have the valve sizes and timings set to somewhere in the middle, but it will be fa...
