The manifold went on without resorting to butchering it so it follows that it must come off the same way.
You can flex the pipes a little to get them away from the head and then you should be able to winkle the manifold out.I have never had to remove the oil cooler before.

The 2.8i doesn't have an ECU. Do you mean the ignition amplifier (duraspark) unit? I have a complete engine bay loom available.
