Re: 2.0S Daily Driver
So since I've had the car back I've enjoyed about 400 miles of show & daily driving but first chink in the armour for some time. Came off the dual carriageway off to club meet & dreaded white smoke puffing out the exhaust and was firing on 3. Head gasket! So have had to spend this weekend re...

Re: 2.0S Daily Driver
John, Well yes I did! I was able to get the car sorted ready for the show, although I was up at 2am putting the replacement drivers seat in! I picked the car up last Friday & the way back was quite lumpy as it had no fuel over the last few months & plenty of dust. So I had the rear bumper to...

Re: 2.0S Daily Driver
Time to update! So the challenge is on to have the Capri ready for the Hanworth classic car show this weekend (so June hopefully!). The car has been undergoing the final stages of paint, and a chat with one of our SCC members during a meet made me think about getting the tailgate done as well simply...

Re: Santa Pod 2016
It was a great day, good to see you Nick, and yes, Calvin's car, where do I start?........ Turns out the 2d mapping system he has buggered itself up, so he has the advance turned off so loss of power. He still went up the strip, although I was worried as it was my lift home! I didn't really want it ...

What are the Wheel Specialists like in there? Always like to know if they're good enough to use for the future.

Re: Brand New Parcel Shelf....wait till you see this.....
The cost of the NOS parcel shelf is staggering, but I suppose with prices rising as they are near enough 1 grand they'll get that back & more if they sell the car. But cars are for driving especially a Capri. The parcel shelf is the least of my worries! As for repro parts in general,it's alright...

Re: Coops Capri For Sale
For anybody that wanted to know if everything went ok, it didn't! The buyer pulled out so Burt gets to keep the car, which he is chuffed about seeing as the reason he was selling also got cleared up. Smiles all round!

Re: 2.0S Daily Driver
Thanks Nick. Yes Graphite Grey still, I love the colour too much to change it.
The company that did the dash are in Essex (actually it wasn't too far from Battlesbridge) & it wasn't cheap, but the work done was great.
Just need it back now!

Re: 2.0S Daily Driver
So my Capris progress is steady going, we're finding various issues but it's almost ready to be painted. Re: CCI Nationals 2016
Great pics, and well done John! Top notch on gold, well worth it! The black Tickford is my absolute favourite. I first saw it at Nationals in 2010, it made an appearance at Brooklands, and it is fantastic throughout. The bodykitted black 2.8 is a guy called Andrew, this is the one I went to Beaulieu...

Re: Simply Ford 2016
Great pics. I forgot to mention that as I was driving the Saab back and turning off the M3 for A31 Alton services I had the roof down and I heard a lovely exhaust note, turned around for a millisecond to see a Capri, I don't know if it was John or Nick, sounded lovely regardless!

Re: Simply Ford 2016
Great day on Sunday, shame I couldn't be in my Capri, but I came along in my mate Andrew's 2.8 (black with whale tail). First time experience & I loved it!. Great seeing Neil, John/Nick - didn't see you all day! Went over to the stand, no one I knew there but was so busy walking around I didn't ...

10 Years of Capris @ the Ace Cafe = Saturday 6th August 2016
Right! So, maybe everybody thought we had forgotten about it, but not so! Organisation for this years Ace cafe meet has been a bit slow & we needed to get everything matched up, so now we're ready to kick start it! So this years event is the 10 years anniversary, which is amazing to think Capri ...

Re: 2.0S Daily Driver
So after last year I knew there would be more work to be done on the Capri, so saved the pennies to at least get the outside of the car sorted. So the basic stripdown started with the highlighted bits needing to get done: http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e49/2litreScapri-SCC/Capri%20Restoration/IMG...

50 Years of the Capri - Historic Brooklands Circuit & Museum - 8th September 2019
So, there is talk of 50th anniversary events over the past week, it is an ideal opportunity to announce the 50th anniversary event at Brooklands. This has been in the pipeline pretty much when the sun set on the 45th event, but it was best to get a lot of background stuff sorted before making announ...
