I think that the standard ones were dark graphite? There are light graphite ones available so you need to be careful when ordering I think. This Capri Club link specifies this for a 1.6, not sure if 2.0 are the same -

Re: Dashboard switches
I swapped a couple of mine over a little while ago as I noticed the order wasn't right. Even though the cables seemed unaltered, the cable lengths stopped them from 'wanting' to be rearranged, they were more comfortable as they where. Still, they're 'right' now.

Re: Type 9 gearbox swap/ mpg
Anything from 40mph and above, and it's fifth gear for me. Engine is labouring too much with anything below that. As said, that fifth gear gives a nice smooth cruise at higher speeds.

I love the part in this series where he says - 'the Capri!'
Marvellous, I have that episode as a digital file.

Why all the pratting about when you can just buy one nice and easy from Martin as above. Another option is that the Capri Club also sell them.Caprigear wrote:He already knows that I have the correct mirror - it's been sat in the workshop for days now!

Yes, Ian kennedy Martin has had a hand in a lot of stuff as many of them do. Including The Chinese Detective.peers.dupp wrote:Hi,
Would you believe that Juliet Bravo was created by the same person who created The Sweeney.

I'd stick with the two handed approach if I was you Nick, holding the mounts where the back wheels are.Fordoholic Nick wrote:...it can be lifted using the front axle albeit heavy so this will do me fine, although I think I will be using the two handed approach he also mentioned

Re: Juliet Bravo
Stumbled across BBC4 showing this tonight. A 1980 episode. The programme is far worse than I remember it being. But great cars on it. Great stuff Mike. It's easy to forget just how massive and popular some of these shows were. And I get just the sensation you're mentioning with a lot of classic TV ...

Aldi do them, it's where I got mine from. Haven't used it much but seems a very decent bit of kit, very happy with it.
