Re: does anyone recognise this capri
Whoever wrote the description is an artist in bullshit, typical trainee auctioneer style. “Product of Dagenham “ “left the roads” in 1986?? The research has been minimal and most cut and pasted from bits and pieces from google. The mechanical section doesn’t mention an obvious engine swap so mileage...

Re: How Much Is Car Tax?
Yeah the emission shite isn’t applicable to our cars and any built before 2001. It’s a flat rate system based on engine size , a 2.8i is £270 pa

Re: Headlights
I can recommend Phillips racing vision, gives 150% extra light, I fitted the H4s to my Sierra XR4x4 2.9 and you can see the difference.

Re: Sunroof Seal
Actually I’ve just bought a CCI one, my garage just fitted it and it looks good.... Bear in mind also I tried fitting a first one myself and ruined it. The best way is to remove the sunroof and re fit it... but I trusted it to the garage as it’s a very difficult job to get it all aligned back perfec...

 well I’m very impressed with her, I’m delighted with SP water pumps (Warrington) , yes Jackie is the sales director there, she prioritised the rebuild of my pump and I had it back within about 3 days! £168... thoroughly recommend to anyone out there for any pump repair, much better than rely...

Re: Urgent help! 2.9 cologne water pump cossie 24v?
Hi Steve thanks, however I’ve a Scorpio BOB 2.9 cossie fitted. It’s a mystery who has these parts now. The one Burton has is for the earlier Granada Scorpio BoA. They don’t sell BOB ones..
I may have to find an engineering company to repair mine!

Urgent help! 2.9 cologne water pump cossie 24v?
Hi all, I wonder if anyone can kindly assist, I’ve reached breaking point! :banghead: Capri is a 2.8 special with a 1995 Scorpio Cosworth 2.9 24v BOB engine. When the water pump gave in, I ordered a replacement but it’s totally different from the original- different moulding and internal profile. I ...

Re: Super unleaded petrol
Actually I remember 4star was 99 RON, super was 5star, which was 101 or even 105 RON. 3star was 95 RON, and was often called “blend” because it was a halfway house between “economy” or “regular” which was 2 star, rated at 91 RON and 4 star .. So today’s “new” “unleaded” is actually 3 star - not a go...

What we now need is some advice from the more technical amongst us as to what fuel system components (if any) need to be changed or upgraded by next year so as to avert the risk to life and / or car

E10 (?!) petrol
Now, before anyone says, “ oh yes we had it in the 30s - 60s with Pratt’s ethyl, Cleveland discol etc, it is well known that to have a massive 10% of alcohol in petrol seriously degrades fuel systems, pipes etc and can render everyday life unsafe. So what I cannot understand, is that no club organis...

Stop the destruction of our passion
Is it just me, but I cannot see anywhere that any club, organisation or whatever has initiated any petition or campaign against the idiotic scrappage plan rumoured to destroy cart loads of our 80s, 90s and even early 2000 classics. Do we just sit here and watch that prat destroy it all? If anyone kn...

Re: How do we make an all electric capri
I can see the cities having people bumming around in electric cars but seriously, spending 20 - 75 grand on one ? Most of my last contracts involved me driving 1.5-2 hrs each way every day to earn a crust. That’s 135 miles each day, and what, I just grind to a halt after 100 miles? Oh yes, I could g...

Re: How do we make an all electric capri
I am just hoping something terrible happens to Greta Thunberg and all of these NEW vegans get sick. I get fed up of virtuous people preaching, when they are all hypocrites Indeedy... I suppose instead of having proper paper notes we could start using millions of tons of plastic to make them instead...

Re: How do we make an all electric capri
For their own egotistical objective some waste of space will probably start slowly by stealth, increase the fuel duty and VED for our cars in the name of the planet, whilst blatantly ripping up ancient forests, wildlife habitats, country villages for HS2, just so that 9 to 5-ers can get another 27 m...

Re: How do we make an all electric capri
Love the posts on this ! :agree: Absolutely sick to the bone of aggressive so called climate activists who obviously think drilling the oceans for another (rarer) mineral is going to change anything. We are responsible for 1% of the world’s emissions but are leaders in offshore wind. A shit looking ...
