I'm sure you know but you can get reproduction ones. CapriGear has them advertised at £37.50 plus carriage. Exactly what I was going to say Mine was the same as yours when I first got it, first thing I did was fit one of these Does seem to be the best option all things considered. You can get them ...

Magpie, I do yes :) As with Swap Shop and Tiswas everyone seemed to be in one camp or the other. It was Blue Peter for me.
