Re: New Member

I'm with you, His loss your gain :D

I don't know if you can book a space at Simply Ford. The web page say's that you have to turn up together if you want to park together. We could all meet up somewhere first and drive in together if everyone wants.

Re: New Member

Hi Andy, I saw a really tidy black 4 speed 2.8 at Beaulieu Simply classics and sports cars back in August. Both me and my mate walked straight past a Brooky to get a good look at it. It took us back in time 30 years to our 20's until we looked in the mirror and came crashing back to earth :( I'm hap...

Re: New Member

Lovely car mate........... I had one the same colour and same year when I was young back in 85.

Love the 4 speed version :D I've got a Black 83 5 speed, but wish I could have found a 4 speed just like yours.

Re: Track Control Arms

I've fitted poly bushes on my Capri all round. I haven't noticed any difference in the harshness of ride or road noise.
The steering seems a little more responsive than before so they get a thumbs up from me

Only been fitted for a year, so I can't comment on how well they are wearing.

That makes sense if you've uprated the brakes. The standard brakes aren't the best :!:

Re: Good looking 15" wheels

Why do you want to put 15 inch wheels on a Capri?
I like the way they look with the original size wheels :)

Re: Winter

I've just bought one for my Capri and a few for around the house. They seem cheapest on Amazon.

Re: Camshaft sensor E46 325i, off chance anyone has done one

I had the same problem with a 325. Not having access to an error reader at the time I had to put it into a BMW specialist. They charged me £100 to fix it (a lot of money 10 years ago). Then 2 weeks later the problem came back. Took it back to the garage and found out that the second cam sensor had g...

Re: Corvette find....

Hi Andrew, I'm not a fan of American cars, but love it when someone unearths a load of classic cars that haven't been seen for years. If I was forced to choose an American car it would be a 67 Shelby GT500 Mustang. I think Fords best attempt to copy the Capri :D Need to fit a set of Pepperpot alloys...

Re: unleaded heads

What engine are you thinking of converting? I've just looked into this for my 2.8 and was recommended against having it done by one Engineering company, as there's a possibility the heads will crack due to the lack of material where the seats fit. Another company quoted £360 :o So I've decided not t...

Re: 4 or 5 speed box

Stick with the 4 speed the gear change is a lot slicker..........
I had a 4 speed back in the day and I think it was the best version, however I suspect others won't share my opinion.

2.8 front crankshaft oil seal removal.

Hi,

Has anyone got any useful tips for removing the front oil seal from the timing cover with the engine in situ?

The seal looks awkward to pries out as it sits about 10mm below the front face of the cover and I'd rather not have to remove the timing cover and disturb the sump gasket.

Cheers

Re: Capri Talk On Emmerdale!

My kids laughed and said "He's just like you Dad". Suggesting I was as equally boring, so I choose not to mention "They didn't do a 1969 MK2 GT and why don't the TV companies do a bit of research before they show these programmes" as I thought it would just confirm their opinion ...
