Re: Another bargin on ebay

Yes, you are right, but why isn't it clear to the people who matter, i.e. the authorities! Maybe it's easy to get away with it because of all the genuine memorabilia that the seller also has listed? It would be difficult to claim that the V5 is memorabilia if it's being sold by a scrap dealer, for ...

No problem at all, mate.
Martin is always my first port of call for Capri bits and bobs. Very helpful and extremely knowledgeable.

Re: wanted capri tailgate struts

Hi,
If you already have some struts you can get them re-gassed at SGS engineering.

If you haven't already got some, Martin at Caprigear should be able to supply them.

All the best,
Andrew.

Re: Classic car insurance

I spoke to a chap as Ian is in London today, I was told that I was covered to stay away overnight, the key is that if I am at my permanent residence, it has to be in the garage, cannot be left outside etc. Hi Mike, This is the way I also understood the situation when I last spoke to Coops. Please l...

Re: Classic car insurance

I would state without question that you are competent and knowledgeable enough to know the accurate and realistic value of your own car. Hi, That's very nice of you to say so, thank you. Perhaps the CCI valuation may help to set and achieve a sales figure for the car? After all, I think that a valu...

SmokeEm wrote:I mean, who would pay £350for a log book for a 1275gt Mini as 'Memorabilia'
Hi,

Obviously nobody will pay that for memorabilia, it's as clear as day what is going on here.
However, from what I can tell, there is no proof of any illegal activity.

Re: Another bargin on ebay

selling for memorabilia is not illegal BUT lets face it, it isn't good. You're right about that, I totally agree. I suppose it's easy to be apathetic and do nothing about this sort of activity. If only there was a specialised department within the Police that had the time and resources to investiga...

Re: Classic car insurance

I did CCI valuation last year to support agreed value (as far as Flux was concerned, they ignored it but there we go). I paid £15 and they valued it by reference to 6 photographs. I actually sent a few more to make sure I got the value I believed was right. They might, I suppose, do valuations in t...

Re: Amusing Video

Quality. Cheers Mike, I'm glad the video made you smile. Goodness knows how much fuel she wastes just trying to fill up and park in general. I imagine that she definitely is one of those drivers that drives around for hours looking for a space that's at least three times the size of her car. Even t...

Re: Classic car insurance

[lAnd if the Capri Club would charge for this service or is it included in the membership? Hi Neil, I'm sure there is a fee involved, although I haven't got a clue how much it is. I can't even find an advert for the service in the club mag, at the moment. I'll keep searching and report back. Andrew.

Re: Classic car insurance

Have you been down the route of having your car valued by the Capri Club? Would the evaluation been done at their workshop or by emailing photo's and copies of receipts? Hi Neil, No, I haven't had a valuation from the club yet, although I am going to do so before insurance renewal time. I was under...

Interesting. It was the other way around for me, Coops were nowhere near competitive with a quote for my Toyota.
It just goes to prove that it's essential to shop around for a competitive quote.
