Re: Whitstable classic car show.

Ironically, no. Didn't take any pictures. Completely forgot! There was 2 other capris there. A lovely black B Reg and a Brooky.
I took my camera as well but was chatting with a few people but just forgot. Doh!

Re: Whitstable classic car show.

Well, it was a really good turnout. Over 700 cars! Bit windy but otherwise it was a good day. Only downside was all the modern cars that were there. At least 20 Jaguars 10 years or newer! Really got my goat that. As well as all the dealers etc. But, plenty of classics to keep everyone happy. Much bi...

Anyone else going tomorrow? I'll be there. If you are, pop over and say hello. We'll grab a cuppa together!

Re: Beware of modern engine oils

I would say the Harris engines are more high performance than my standard 2.8. Of course they'll use a higher spec oil. I used to when I was racing. I would never dream of putting 'standard' oil in my old Polleysport race engine! I'll stick with the 10w 40 as that is what was recommended and it runs...

I'll be going next year and if anyone wants to get on our club stand rather than the car park, let me know. Might be able to squeeze you in!

Re: Beware of modern engine oils

When I bought my car,the previous owner had rebuilt the engine and sorted the head to run on unleaded. He recommended I use castrol 10 W 40 oil. That's what I used and the engine is a bit 'rattley '. Pushrods? Perhaps I need to change it again.

Re: Be Aware... Update

Now, I work for myself so on my van I had tools, materials my sat nav etc. I was half way through doing a bathroom so had all materials on it. As you can imagine, I lost a days work, all the materials so ended up having to do that bathroom...

Prices are ridiculous now. I need to get my cassette player fixed. I think it's the drive band inside? Don't know. Not to bothered about it at the moment but will get it done.

Orsett Classic and Vintage show 10/07/2016

Just a few pictures of the Orsett show I attended last weekend. I've included a closer picture of my car to show the paintwork hopefully sorted now and a rather nice cousin. http://i1245.photobucket.com/albums/gg581/Stsih704/FB_20160711_17_21_47_Saved_Picture.jpg http://i1245.photobucket.com/albums/...

Re: Paint problem

Rights, update. After spending the best part of three weekends degreasing and rubbing in G3 paint renovator, buying a polisher and some auto glym super resin polish I finally have a result! Now, me and cleaning cars don't really go. I hate it. But this needed to be done. And I'm really pleased I did....
